He has risen! May this be the defining day in our country and that we are now on the downward slope! Happy Easter to all of you.

You are a great example of those that ascribe to the two tenants of militant atheism. 1) There is no God. 2) I hate him.

It's the most important day on the Christian calendar. Why not let us have our day and just roll your eyes and keep scrolling.

You can’t prove there is a God though.

congrats on converting (brainwashing) a bunch of third world idiots

This thread is going as expected. About two thirds proclaiming their faith, and about one third telling them how stupid they are and mocking them for doing it.

If I saw a thread celebrating something that I didn’t believe in, I just pass it over. That’s too tough for you guys, isn’t it? Need to show how “smart” you are.

Regarding Point #1: There's no reason to believe there's a God. Humans have conjured countless deities through the millenia to explain what they don't understand or to give them hope that they will somehow survive death.

Regarding Point #2: My only concern with God is the political tenacity of his followers, who do exist and do vote and do have significant social influence based on primitive beliefs. I do, however, think God (as portrayed in the Bible) is quite savage, though.

Or maybe people should keep their sensitive beliefs to themselves on a forum notorious for members giving other members shite about everything.

That is exactly the point. God never attempts to prove that He exists. He is the great “I Am.” He does not prove Himself to His creation. You either accept it or you do not.

I guess I just don't get it. There are lots of religions and world views that I believe are false. There are a lot of lifestyles I disagree with. I don't look for opportunities to ridicule or throw water on their faith. Especially on the days they find sacred. In real life interactions I might proclaim my faith to someone but even then I am going to do it in a respectful manner. I just don't feel the need to interact with someone on a day where they find hope and try to make them feel small. It's just strange to me.

I won’t engage you any further than what I have. It’s a fruitless proposition. God bless you.

Sure there is.

God may be a mysterious particle spread throughout the universe with a collective intelligence and verified someday.

"God" works for a lot of people. I've gone through agnostic phase but really came to believe in god again, maybe not in the way religious folks do.

To each his own. If believing in God makes your life better, what is it hurting.

The resurrection story is something significant whether you take it literal or not. It's about hope.

Views that are a lot further removed from your day-to-day life than Christianity is to the southern atheist.

I didn't look for the opportunity. I didn't go knocking on a church door. I didn't blast anyone on Facebook. The OP brought his beliefs to a place filled with people who love to argue and give shite.

Would you tell me I'm going to burn in Hell if I don't join the club?

Let me know when that happens. I'm all ears for Jesus.

No one should bitch about getting ripped on the OT. It's a bad idea to bring anything you're sensitive about to this place.
