Is 2,000 years really that long? No, it is not.

The only reason that God waits is so that all who should be saved, will be saved.
He is long suffering/patient toward them.

That’s what 2 Peter 3:9 means, and that’s also where we get the common folk theology of “A day for God could be 1,000 years”...but it’s usually abused and misapplied.

Do you own one of those cardboard crosses to put in your front yard?

Yes, it is.

Out of curiosity, what would you consider long? At what point could someone justifiably say, “Ya know, maybe Jesus isn’t coming”? 3,000 years? 5,000? 10,000? 50,000?

See my previous comment about 2 Peter 3:9

If there were no Christians left in the world, I’d start worrying. While it’s not so culturally cool to be a Christian in America and Western Europe, we’re on the rise in Asia and Africa.
God does work..when and how he wants to do it.

I have no idea. but God gave us his son once, he will do it again on his time.

Tell you what, I'll go wait in heaven for it in the meantime

He'll be ready when He is. We are like impatient children clamoring "are we there yet?"

Probably going to be a while before that happens, just like with Muslims, Buddhists, etc. Most adherents are culturally influenced into their beliefs before they develop critical thinking skills. Makes it easier for nonsense to pass from one generation to the next.

Is this why my Facebook page is flooded with Easter comments?

No one has an easier job than God. Pray and something good happens, you get all the credit. Pray and nothing happens (or even if circumstances get worse) you get none of the blame.

Must be nice.

I think we're more like an average guy sitting at a restaurant table 30 minutes after the time he was supposed to meet some smokin' hot chick there for a date and he hasn't heard anything from her.

The mighty god, Apollo, never slumbers! May the rays of his light fill us all with warmth and may he kill this pestilence that ravishes the land.
