The Big Island of course. I drove a good ways up one of those volcanos a few years ago. I chickened out and turned around when I got to the "only 4WD beyond this point" sign. I think it might be a BS sign to keep tourists away

I’m from Minnesota, but 12” of snow with 100 MPH winds sounds like a blizzard to me! ??

The summits are 13,000 feet above sea level. Even mountains along the equator have snow at this level.

and Denver still hasn't had their first snowfall yet. First time since 1882 that they haven't had snow by 12/3 & I don't see any forecast for the next week or two

So many nights I just dream of the ocean. God I wish I was sailing again.

Its all up here. Ski area opens today. 60" of snow so far since mid November.

Snow ghosts are already on the prowl.

If you go from base to summit, technically the Big Island is the tallest mountain in the world. If the oceans evaporated completely, we’d be focusing on it more than we do Everest. So snow on Hawaii is not surprising.

Is this like that time they accidentally issued a nuke warning?
