It's alright. You sound like someone that could actually use medication for anxiety.

Definitely recommend taking vitamin B complex for stress anxiety. Liquid form or pills.

I take the liquid kind four times a day (recommended) and a lot of things that bothered me or concerned me don't as often.

It helps, even with phobias that come late in life.

Good luck to you.

1mg Xanax twice a day

Really does help with these things and I am not a drug person.. I typically recommend as much herbal supplements/vitamins as possible

Anxiety with panic attacks are the worst and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.. There is nothing wrong with the OP bringing it up to a doctor.. they very well may prescribe you some xanax for times you know you may have to deal with these things.. Again, I am not drug pusher, but it can help tremendously.

Seriously though, these phobias/anxiety attacks can hit you at any time in your life and can be very paralyzing with the fear and then the physical symptoms that come from it like you mentioned.. Hard to breath, chest tightness, feeling weak, etc.. sucks.. Definitely bring it up to a doctor if you can.. they have most likely dealt with this type of thing before.. you won't sound weird at all for something that once never bothered you and now does.. That is not new..

You have to figure out what works best for you though.. but I can't recommend the vitamin B complex enough.. as well as a small amount of xanax. Very calming.

Thanks for your replies. Yea it's pretty scary, I always thought of anxiety like I see in back of ambulance with hyperventilating and stuff like that. I realize now I didn't know shite about anxiety until now. It comes and goes and is miserable. I'm a call dr tomorrow. I'm a skip class to see him, haven't missed a day yet and still have damn near perfect grade and no test tomorrow.

Do not fall into the hole of Xanax Xanax is a short term band-aid for anxiety, and should never be used long term

It just depends upon the person.

That short term and getting through things you couldn't before can lead you back to where you once were.

You have the right intentions here, but sometimes it is needed. Everyone is different though.. I have no addiction issues or having to rely on xanax for a long term solution.. but it has very much helped get me through my panic attacks long enough to finally be well without it.

I prefer xanax over SSRIs.. especially just small amounts WHEN needed.. but I don't judge anyone on SSRI's.. especially if it does help them.

Everyone is different and he/she needs to find out what works for them.. but short term I would recommend xanax if it's realllly bad.. especially to the point of passing out.. you can even break them in half and just take a half to try.

You can have all the training, psychiatrist meetings in the world.. self talks.. whatever.. but sometimes when you experience this level of panic almost nothing seems to work. Hopefully they can talk to several different people and find out what works for them. I still highly recommend b vitamins daily! Can take the edge off.

I am not saying anything bad about using Xanax, just that the idea of "just take Xanax twice a day" and forget it like SuperSaint suggested is a horrible idea.

Xanax should be used as an aid to reduce panic attacks while you fix what's wrong with you. You should not rely on Xanax to be the thing that fixes you.

Using Xanax in this way is like getting physically hurt and just taking opiates all the time instead of getting surgery to fix your injury.

I used to have bad panic attacks and anxiety, benzodiazepines helped me get along but didn't fix my problem.

EDIT: And it certainly wasn't SSRIs that helped me either. I didn't even try SSRIs, I wanted to have nothing to do with them.

Not sure what nursing school you're going to, but all the newer nurses I work with said they're not allowed to stick each other anymore.

Anxiety is a purposeful thing. And gets us ready for something that's coming up, makes us aware. It's bad when we don't know what it's coming from though.

It may be from something underlying, like the stress from starting a new career, or health related, like being anxious, because you don't realize why you're anxious. Or realizing that you have this new medical condition, and you don't know why, and you're not as healthy as you thought.

I cut down on my caffeine, took some Xanax maybe a handful of times, and now a year later I don't have the issues.

This may pass for you. Taking Xanax alters our body's natural ability to handle anxiety. Tread carefully.

Lock yourself in a closet & take two hits of acid.

Works wonders for anxiety & best of all, it is completely safe.

Psych might be a good place.

What's happened to you happens. Once it gets to you once for some obscure reason (tired, worn out, etc) you begin to freak out I. The anticipation of freaking out. You have to convince yourself you've done this shite a ton of times and never had a problem. Start interjecting yourself into these areas and force yourself to cope.

Maybe go to the mall at peak time and sit there and breathe.

Don't over think this though. Don't spend all day searching for answers and reading shite. It makes it worse.

I'll tell you one day out of the blue after my first kids was born heights began to scare the shite out of me. That's a problem as I work in a chemical plant. Have to keep going out there and convince yourself you can handle it.

Kind of like having a relapse and it resetting you. Don't worry on why it happened but more so how to overcome it. Like learning to walk again after and injury.

You know, I didn't really want to say it in here, but that is basically how I cured my anxiety.

I strongly suggest meditation. It takes an incredible amount of patience to sit there and clear your mind, and it feels like forever. But if you can manage to meditate for 20 minutes or so, when you come out of it, you are so much calmer and relaxed. It's nice.

Tell md. Ideally one who is hypnotherapist.
at least someone who has time for you.
Better than typing to strangers.
