Having children during the summer of COVID.

Holy shite am I glad I’m not in that boat. Going through airports. Eating at restaurants. Having to be their teacher. No thanks. Seems like a complete nightmare. I don’t know how y’all do it.

Lots of trips to the park. Watched some baby geese grow up. A poor person $45 inflatable pool with a slide. A new $1,800 play set helped when playgrounds closed. A few isolated trips to the beach.

My first was born 6 days ago. Really hasn’t been too bad. My wife and I were doing less things while she was pregnant due to Covid, but we both still worked and we’d still go to dinner occasionally. It was nice with just my wife and I in the hospital without all the visitors. We got to rest and bond with our son.

At the end of the day I’m kind of happy this happened. I got to watch my first child grow up from not doing anything but sleeping to crawling and playing with toys. It was an awesome experience.

You'd be surprised at how you adapt. Except the having to be their teacher part. Nothing like working all day and having a stressful day. Then you come home exhausted to two kids and when you open up their homework, their teacher full of piss and vinegar have loaded them up with 98897977890 assignments to go over and do. And at the tail end of the school year last year, it seemed like this was the norm every fricking day. This is why parents become furious and have deaf ears to teachers saying they want to feel safe by going virtual. Us parents are the beat the frick down, bro. It's time for teachers to take the kids back and give us some relief.

I have 3, my youngest turned 1 last month. Its been a stressful last 5 months to say the least. Love them though.

3 1/2 year old girl in our house. Hasn’t been too bad. Daycare never closed down so that was a lifesaver as me and mom both work. Inflatable pool made for some fun saturdays in April and May with the weather so nice at the time. It hasn’t been too bad. We’ve had to be conscious about trips to the store without bringing her which she doesn’t quite understand.

Make sure you don’t text the MIL that her daughter is about to start pushing and wait 1.5 hours to update her
My wife had the epidural shivers for about 45 min, and she could barley hold the baby. MIL was freaking out when we finally FaceTimed she and my FIL.
It’s awesome, though. One minute they tell your S/O to start pushing and in my wife’s case, 11 minutes later you have a screaming newborn being put on her chest. It’s a wild ride.

Aren’t those all the things we’re supposed to NOT be doing anyway It’s been challenging but that’s life. I’d rather be stuck around them than be elderly in a nursing home cut off from the world for months or have to talk to my family through a glass window.
3 kids under the age of 5. I have watched Frozen 2 every single day since March 14th.
Virtual PreK was kind of fun. My kids play pretend school all the time anyway. I’m definitely fricking insane now though.
Going anywhere sucked, especially road trips. We drove out of stare for Easter. Nothing sucks more than your kid having to piss every 10 miles and it’s a 50/50 shot that the next place you stop is closed.

We homeschool anyway, so it was not a big deal. Although the kids did miss their socializing time at their other activities.
Hopefully stuff will start getting back together so the kids can hang out with their friends.
