I don't understand how you people know this much about your adult aged kids personal lives. I dont think I ever told my parents about any of my high school or college break ups.

I have 4 daughters and yep you’re right.
Oh and when they were growing up…. Glitter… fricking glitter every damn where. All the toys for girls had glitter…

It’s tough as hell, isn’t it? I like to fix things, or try at least. There’s no way to fix your kid’s broken heart. My aggravation is that I feel totally useless

Kids that age have grown up in a world where they expect things to happen/change instantly. She’s sad and thinks because it hasn’t gotten better in 48 hours that it never will.
Na, this is how teenagers and young adults have been forever. Emotions are naturally intense at that age. Its just how young humans are.

Tell him to mad dog her.

As long as he stays good with the law and uninjured, and is back for practice on Monday then I am good. Adds a ton of risk driving his little car down to Boca Grande for the weekend.

Silver Linings. She’s healthy and has mom and dad right there under the same roof for her worst break up. Like when they were kids and they’re sick. Can’t take the fever and pain away and put into yourself no matter how much you wish you could. This too will pass.

My son is in the identical situation, only he’s already off at college. She called and broke up with him (going to Bana in the fall, he’s at UF), blocked him on everything. He’s been a sobbing fool all week
Did you explain to him the amount of poon he’s going to be getting playing ball at UF?

He’s blinded right now…but holy shite. When all the freshman scholarship athlete girls move into his building it’s going to get real. He’s been there all summer and knows his way around…and the new girls are going to eat in football Ops building with him and study in the same study hall. Going to be fun for him to figure out what they all do. Gymnast, cheerleaders, soccer players, softball, track…

She's been crying for two days, no interest in doing anything. Wife tells me to back off and I'm wondering if she needs emergency psych help.
The older you get, the easier it becomes to cope with traumatic things like this. I’d assume this is her first heartbreak. I was in pretty rough shape for a few weeks when I got dumped around her age. Guys deal with it too at that age. She’ll slowly but surely start getting some serotonin back in her brain.

When they were growing up, my son was the easy one and my daughter had the drama. They are adults now and have reversed roles.

I raised two and I think I did okay, but I don’t think I would know how in today’s world.

My youngest son now 22 years old attended a basketball game UF/LSU in Gainesville around 2018 His head was on a swivel he wasn't going to college at that point but after seeing the UF dance team he reconsidered his options. Lol

Love her to death, but can't wait until she gets over this. Nothing worse than seeing your kid heartbroken and helpless to do anything about it.
New IPhone 16 pro max today makes that BF grief fly right away.
But seriously. Hand the wife the card and tell them to go shopping over the weekend somewhere they hadn’t been in a while.
