They just painted over a tennis court here in my neighborhood to a pickle ball court. I would try it but my knees or worn out.

Its a good time, we play at work. Modified rules. body shots above the elbow, above the knee = 2 points, head shot is 5. Well struck pickle/wiffle ball leaves a nasty welt. I do play, play singles and run my arse off 4 hours around 1600-2000 calories.

That’s what I could get into.
Throw some pain or threat of pain in there and that’s more like a sport to me.

I just bought some paddles and balls to play with my son. I've jacked my shoulder up somehow and I can't serve in tennis without sharp pain. Not gonna have surgery until I have to cause I'm old. So I figure we can play this to keep me in decent shape.

I've never played pickleball, but it seems like a nice alternative for those who like tennis, but are too old or fat to cover the court. Red Lerilles in Lafayette has converted some tennis courts to pickleball and they stay packed with older folks

pickleball is pretty popular around here(TX) and has been for a long time, I've never seen any old folks playing, it's always young people, and a lot of hot young women seem to love playing it

Easy to play. Difficult to master.

Good point

Anyone can swing a paddle and hit the ball and make it go over the net. Play someone who knows what they’re doing and it becomes clear that there’s some finesse involved

Facts.

Watch some highlights from the pros, especially doubles games, and you'll see some incredible feats of athleticism, hand/eye coordination, and control.

I used to be a bike racer and we had a saying about mountain bike trails and cyclocross courses. If the trail or course seems easy, ride it faster.

The same can be said for pickleball. If you think it's an easy game and you are a badass, play against someone with experience and you'll be in for a rude awakening and as arse kicking.

fat people suck at tennis and they will likely suck at pickleball, unless they are playing other fat people.

I know several people that got into this until they broke their ankles or elbow. I tried it briefly until I twisted my knee.

reminds me of a couple of friends that I used to play golf with, they are pretty good and both just knew that when they turned 50 they'd make the Senior's tour, as if the pros that have been making a living golfing for decades will just magically start to suck when they turn 50

I had a relative severely sprain their ankle playing pickleball...my neighbor tore his achilles tendon playing it. These were relatively young, non-fat people...

People do need to be careful.
