I won’t lie, I’ve joined the cult and it’s pretty fun so far. I had never even heard of this sport before a few months ago and now I see dedicated pickleball courts popping up everywhere. I much prefer singles to doubles as you barely move at all in doubles.

I can’t decide if I think this sport is here to stay or is this is just a passing fad.

Almost bought a set this weekend as it seems to be pretty persistent. Seems fun enough but I’m pretty busy with bocce.

Have all the ITP singles in Atlanta transitioned to this? Everything Atlanta is a passing fad, and you'll regret pictures of you doing pickleball just like you are embarrassed at your junior high yearbook pic.

We were playing pickleball in PE in 2007. Why is it popular now? Must be some instagram or tiktok shite that made white women learn about it.

oh shite you are right. I had played this for like two weeks back in 6th grade.

I have no clue why it’s popular now, but some people with money think it’ll stay popular with all the permanent pickleball courts being built.

It’s fun just don’t get weird about it. Leave that to the vegans and cross fitters.

Judging how most groups are the AARP crowd, I don’t think it has anything to do with social media.

My condo converted two of the four tennis courts to pickleball and they are used every day - tennis courts not so much.

I don't play - yet - but it looks like a good, healthy social activity.

Takes far less skill than Tennis.

Frankly I think table tennis requires more skill.

To each their own but the sound is pretty annoying for folks who live around them.

I've played it once, and it was...fine. It's designed to be easy. The difference between baseball and wiffleball.

I draw the line where they start taking the place of real tennis courts.

I just picked it up with my son and we both very much enjoy it. I think it will be a great segue into tennis for him.

Why do you people have to be assholes about everything?

Oh yeah I don’t think it’s debatable that the learning curve is extremely small with pickleball. You basically can go from never having played it to decent in a few hours.

Play it at my club. Love it. They just hit each member w a $600 assessment to pay for more outdoor courts.

Why are fat people so jealous of healthy (relatively) activities?

That’s why I started playing it. All the fun of tennis, without the running and sweating of tennis.
