I had this vision that I would work the drive through window.
You don't start off at the window, you have to earn that shite. But when you finally do, it makes it so much more meaningful. It's one of the proudest moments a man can have.

Lol. That actually wouldn't be bad. I hear the grill cooks make good there. Nah its a privately owned restaurant.

If I worked in FF I'd be afraid of the window because it seems like it'd be hard to make out what people say through that little intercom. I'd have to ask like 4 times to repeat their order.

I was stuck on the "broiler" for those four hours, sliding frozen patties into the grill. Fuuuuuuck that, Jack. what did you expect?
Yeah, good point. I have worked almost my whole life, starting with a paper route when I was 11. BK was just my first job in fast food. I'm not adverse to hard work but I learned that day that I'm not cut out for the fast food industry.

I purposely got into a shouting match that almost came to blows at the drive thru one day just so they'd punish me and put me on the broiler. Literally walked outside and called a guy out of his truck. He yelled a few things, peeled out, and drove off. Yea...I was trashy then...The drive thru sucked balls. People change their order when getting to the window all while new orders are coming in thru the mic. Maybe technology has gotten better but in the mid 90s changing an order was a nightmare.
It's also amazing how picky ff customers can be:
- fries no salt
- burger fresh off the broiler
- sandwhich cut in half
- light this or that
- fries fresh out of the grease.
I got to the point to where I hated people and also became very racist during that time.

Macaroni Grill was maybe my favorite job I've ever had so I'm not a snob. Food industry can be fun. But prob not fast food

No. But I do work at a mildly nice restaurant that does take out right now. People think that shite is fast food. No mam the well done not butterflied filet you ordered to go was not ready in 5 minutes.
Yep. I always liked the "well done but not burnt" order on our 16oz strips or barrel cut 10oz filets. With that A-wun sawce on the side.

Nope. When I was 16 and first started looking at jobs I said the 2 things I never wanted to do were fast food or bag groceries.
Only reason I quit is because the managers in charge when I had my cashier shifts were absolutely miserable women on power trips.

I grilled Quarter Pounders for a summer, then the summer after that pushed grocery carts. There were adults working those jobs full-time, motivated me to study harder.

No, but I did receive a one time scholarship of $1000 from Burger King my senior year in high school. Pretty cool and hilarious. The local bk had a plaque with my name on it, lol

Nothing like a good service industry job to make any person racist.
I miss the service industry every day. People were assholes at times, but I guess I am just jaded enough to not really care. Killing with kindness is the most hilarious thing to do to someone when you're waiting tables.

WHICH ONE?
I worked at McDonalds. I like to tell the csb that a buddy and I actually helped build the McDonalds Express on Sherwood(south of philly there now). I can't imagine they would do this these days but new employees who were going to work that store could start either working at existing McDonalds OR Help get the new store ready to open.

Yep....3 years at Mcds in high school.
Everyone should have to work a food service job as a teen imo so we aren't all assholes.
