Have you ever struggled pulling the trigger on a house purchase?

If so, what was the hesitation?
Cost? Layout? Schools? Work/renovations needed? Difference of opinion with your spouse?
What was the ultimate result?

I thought this was going to be about a home invasion not about being indecisive. dissapoint.

totally normal
but if you roll around at night in bed worried that someone else is going to buy it - then you better pull the trigger

No but I bought my house through Honey and Vinegar Realty.

I’ve only bought one and my biggest fear was a better deal would become available after I was locked in.

I always thought if I waited or looked another few days I might find a better deal

Only hesitation I had is “maybe something better will hit the market.” Turned out to be a great buy.

No indeed, i bought my house on such an awesome finance plan. The salesman got me a 108 month deal because i was such a perfect buyer for it.
Oh wait a minute, we are talking about houses.
My apartment is pretty freaking legit.

always sleep on it at least 48 hours, if you are still in doubt explore why- you may have reason to walk away.

Our house is 14 years old and has been constantly updated but just doesnt have the new new. Was looking really in one specific neighborhood and found something we liked but didnt love. Couldn't see almost twice the money for the same footage we have now. We'd also have to start over with pool, landscaping, window treatments, furniture etc. Decided to stay put and revisit in a year when our oldest of 2 is out of the house. Maybe go a bit smaller . Our current house is pretty big and a maintenance monster.

No.
Wife?
She's the dual world champion in handwringing and navel-gazing.

Never. Every house I’ve owned has been what was needed at that time in my life.
Location.
Size.
Preferences.
Do not settle or you’ll try talking yourself out of it.

I’ve never bought a house but you may be experiencing analysis paralysis. I think I’m going through this right now looking for a new car.

Nope. Figured out the area I wanted to be in first, and know your basic requirements in a house before you go looking at them so you're not wasting your time. I knew when I walked into my current one that I wanted it. It takes a couple of minutes for me to make up my mind. It's just there, or it isn't

Both houses purchased were impulse and both we love. No regrets.
