I know that's conventional wisdom, yet more married couples meet at work than any other place.
It works in my case because I work with military and they're never around for very long anyway. I've never been involved in any horror stories that you hear about workplace relationships.

Never slept with a co-worker that I had direct or consistent interaction with. Otherwise, had a few flings with one-step-removed coworkers that went fine.

the best part of my situation is everyone in the office was drooling over her and nobody had any idea we were doing it.

I worked in an 8 story hospital and worked my way through each floor, some two or three times. Being in IT, didn't have to deal with them everyday.

Once. When I worked at Lowe's while in college. Started innocently enough but she was a tad bit psycho. Just kinda stopped talking to her and it all came to a head one night when she threw a beer bottle at my head. Luckily she missed, but she started dating one of the department managers who was recently divorced and they had a falling out after he found her taking a bath with his two young children naked. I did hook up with her roommate for a few months so it wasn't a total loss.
