Do you know anyone who has? Someone on the OT has to have a good story. Let's hear it.

I picked up a Mexican in the rain one Sunday. Couldn't speak a lick of English. He smelled horrible. I drove him a few blocks to a library to get out of the rain. Wife was very angry that I did it (I was alone at the time).

quote:It's not good but a couple of friends of mine picked up a female hitchhiker in the dark after a concert (about 1981) and one of them got her in the back seat and thought she was good-to-go when she was actually heavily menstruating. They dropped her off at a gas station and the car's back seat in daylight looked like a slaughterhouse. The backseat Romeo is still called "Lincoln" like the copper penny. The car was an Olds 98 Regency.

Only if I have a black dude and a ditzy blonde with me. Those two always get killed first.

Not since the 80's when I was in my twenties. It was a really cold Christmas Eve. I had to work that day because I didn't have any vacation to take as it was my first Christmas at the job. I was driving home to North Louisiana from Dallas by myself. Stopped for someone while I was pulling back onto I-20 after a bathroom break in Tyler. Didn't know it was a girl until I opened the door.
As she stuck a bag on my back seat, I told her I the only had $30 cash and if she tried to use the credit cards I had on me, they'd put her in jail. That was the truth too. She just laughed and said not to worry.
She was going to Shreveport. I actually dropped her off at the courthouse because she wanted to go to a homeless shelter and I had no idea where one was.
No crazy story. I stopped because I felt really sorry for anyone being out in the cold on Christmas Eve. I felt bad that she was going to a shelter too.

Very Christ-like action and gesture on Christmas Eve, good job.

I picked up a girl at a gas station on the westbank when I was like 16. She was damn cute. We drove around for a bit parked for awhile and talked then took her home. I still kick myself for dropping the ball on that one.

Yes
Several times, only twice with wife in truck. Never with kids in vehicle.
Never in any danger that I knew of or percieved.
Everytime was someone in serious need.
