I was on I-10 and Fry Road today heading east when this five mile long funeral procession had traffic backed up for a couple miles.

I was already going to be late to where I was headed. (I know. Wake up sooner.) I did it. I jumped into the procession. Made it all the way to San Felipe non-stop. Was awesome.

I was still late. But not as late.

I even thought to myself about going to the funeral.

In my experience, funeral processions run red lights, but do not travel very fast.

So, no. I have not.

I haven’t intentionally but I have jumped into the middle of an extremely long one on accident. Didn’t realize until about a minute later. Worst part is, I was headed to the liquor store. I’m sure those people to this day talk about the guy who jumped into grandpas funeral procession to get his bottle of whiskey.

So, what - I-10 to 610 South, Woodway exit, then south on Post Oak?

I-10 going east from Fry Road.

It used the on and off ramps all the way to San Felipe.

Shouldn't have them anyways. Everyone should know where the body is going and have GPS.

No, but I've inadvertantly led a few.

I used to drive a black Caddy. One more than 1 occasion, I have left a funeral home after the services, not intending to attend the graveside services, only to have several mourners seeing a dour looking guy wearing a suit driving a black Caddy, think I was the funeral director and begin following me. You should have seen the looks on their faces when I turned into the titty bar parking lot instead of the cemetery.

No.

But I did join the Saints parade in my truck. The unofficial parade when they got back from Miami after winning the Super Bowl.

I jumped in and the crowd thought I was with the team. I autographed all sorts of football gear.

Bet those people were trying to figure out who signed their stuff with BFC #1.

Okay. I may have exaggerated a little.

Whoever it was had a lot of family and friends. It seemed like it would never end.

I have sinned. Flog me!

Did you at least turn down the volume of your radio/media system?

See post above yours.

Thanks. That is the best compliment I have received today.
