They used to catch them occasionally in cast net shrimp nets, called them knuckle busters and they would wax your arse if you weren’t careful

Commercial guys called them sea bobs. I remember buying some in venice back in the day. They were tasty. Not as colorful as the pic

I had one up until a year or so ago, a Peacock like in the photo. Named him John Wayne and had him for about 6 years or so.

The gulf species have a similar coloration to brown shrimp.
