Yes, happened to me. I could hear what was happening around me but basically My entire body was not reacting to me trying to get up. Did not move for several minutes!

I never have, but my wife had it the night after surgery recently. She was on the couch and I heard a weird like muffled scream, about a min later she was up and freaking out.

Pretty scary on both of our ends. She told me she felt an almost demonic force over her.

If you want to tell yourself it's "sleep paralysis", go right ahead.

A friend of mine taught at a predominately black school in Ascension Parish. She said that the kids always said that they would wake up at night and couldn't move. All of her students referred to this event as having a witch riding your back. They told her that if you did something bad then the witch would come looking for you at night. I wonder if this is one of the reasons why she never had trouble with her students.

Yes. Some deep voiced fricker was speaking Latin into my ear, and I couldn’t move for a few minutes. As soon as I was able to move and turn to look, my door clicked shut. F that shite. It was when I was stressed out in college. Also had a phenomenon called “exploding head syndrome”. Weird stuff.

Exploding head syndrome is also something I get. If I’m not mistaken people of French heritage get it from time to time. I’m sure other people as well.

I read somewhere your ancestors slept in trees or high places and this was a default to wake you up before your rolled over to your death.

No, but last week, as i was turning over in bed, i stretched my leg and had the worst f'in charlie horse ever in my calf.

I tried to push the muscle back in with my other heel, no dice, got into position to push it in with my hand, and it was horrendous. Hurt for a few days, it was one of the worst charlie horses i had ever had in the calf area, while stretching, during sleeping.

I drink a shite load of tea, and very little water. Looks like dehydration leads to really bad charlie horses.
