My mom was terrified of roaches and told me my dad used to tell her "there's a big arse roach on the ceiling!" and than he'd rip one when her head was under the covers. I'm this man's progeny
that's a nice trick for a new dad to implement. Mine would laugh and then proceed to beating the shite out of me.

Only the one when me and my twin brother were kids in bed in our room one night when all of a sudden my brother let's out a scream that would wake Jesus. I woke up and hollered at him to shut up, and he said a roach just landed on my face! I just laughed and thanked the lord it wasn't my face!

A roach? No, I don't think I have.

I have carried daddy longlegs, beatles, etc. outside.

Sounds irrational but deep down inside I suspect I have some atavistic knowledge of which bugs are good / bad.

That's actually pretty fat. Back in the day I'd have put that out on my tongue and then nursed it all weekend.

The opposite. If I’m going to the kitchen from bed for water and come across one that scurries away I tear apart the cabinets or will camp out waiting for it to come out to kill the nasty bastard. Ruins my whole nights sleep cuz I won’t go back to bed until I know I’ve done everything I could’ve to kill it

Won't lie. Had some thick carpet in my last place. Went to hit a roach with an object but it just pushed him into the carpet a bit and didn't do any damage to him. He then tried burrowing into the carpet to escape. It was kind of cute honestly. I felt compassion. I scooped him up and let him go outside. It made me feel good almost.

Fast forward 3 years. I get out the shower one night and walk into the living room and I see a roach on top of my couch. I damn near lit the whole fricking house on fire. I'm back on the kill them all bandwagon.

When I found a roach in the kitchen, I sprayed so much Raid that it wafted throughout the house and killed my roommate’s pet tarantula.

Yes, I have caught them in empty plastic jars and thrown them outside. It bugs the crap out of my sister that I do that.

Normally, I kill cock-roaches on sight with extreme prejudice. I rarely see them anymore, but they still disgust me.

Last year, I took pity on a roach. I was in my garage and found one, it was furiously fighting for its life caught in a spider's web. The spider was slowly approaching the roach to eat it.

As much as I hate roaches, my fear and hatred of spiders is orders of magnitude greater. If it would've been ants swarming the roach or even a hornet scooping it up, I wouldn't have intervened.

But, frick SPIDERS!!! I rescued that cock-roach after killing the spider just to further piss off its daemonic essence as it left the arachnid's flattened remains.

I threw that nasty-arse cock roach into the dumpster where I knew it would feast like me at a Sunday Brunch. Yes, one coach roach has known my mercy and compassion.
