Have you ever had a problem purchasing anything on EBay?

I was wondering if any of you have ever experienced a problem purchasing anything from EBay. Like the item never being sent after you've paid for it or anything like that.

I'm also thinking about maybe selling a few things on EBay. I have no idea where to even start on doing that. Is it a big process?

Never had a problem buying. No experience selling, I prefer to do local to avoid shipping if I can.

If the item is never sent, you can file a complaint with eBay to get your money back. The seller won't be able to defend themselves duebto the lack of a tracking number.

I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I'm interested in selling stuff but don't really know how to get started.

As for buying items on Ebay i've never had an issue. Delivery is always on time and tracking info is provided quickly.

It may sound dumb but I'd only buy from highly rated sellers if that makes sense.

Doesn't sound dumb at all, I would bet most everyone is the same way.

Yeah... I ordered something Monday. It's paid for. Hasn't shipped and the seller hasn't responded to any messages. I clicked on his profile & he had like an 82% rating with several complaints saying it took forever to ship, the seller didn't communicate, and 1 person claimed that he thinks the seller sold him something counterfeit.

Guess I should have checked all that before buying it. Only $35 purchase. He's supposed to send it by "Economy" mail which is apparently slow too. I'm just not that familiar with EBay but it's good to hear that they'll make him refund me if I don't get it.

I once bought some Ray-Bans and it said they would be shipped and in my hands within a week and a half. A month later nothing.

Filed a claim with Paypal, got my money back two weeks later.

About a week after that the sunglasses showed up in my mail

I've sold a lot of random shite on there.

I'll buy 3-4 pairs of the new Jordans that I know will sell out in like 10 minutes then I'll sell them on Ebay for $50-75 more than what I paid for them.

as far as buying on ebay, I have never had a problem...you read the comments that say the seller is slow to ship and accepted that before you purchased, so don't sweat over it.

I have never sold anything on ebay, but know a few folks who have. all of them said stuff sells pretty quickly there, but packing, shipping, etc. is a pain in the arse and will eat up any profits pretty quickly.

Not really, you can post a fixed shipping price for the buyer to pay and that's what I do, then I add $5.

Always use PayPal to pay so that you have that extra layer of protection in case it goes south for you.

In not sure exactly what Pay Pal is. I tried to make an account for it today & it kept rejecting me so I gave up.

Paypal is awesome.

I use Venmo for money transactions between friends, but for ebay and for when I sell my Texas Ranger tickets it all goes through Paypal. It's essentially security for the buyer in case they frick you over somehow. Just makes you legit as a seller.

Done both sides of it a lot, never really had any major problems, couple of flaky people here or there but overall it functions surprisingly great

No but I never buy stuff on there anymore. It takes like 10 days for stuff to get shipped to you and you have to pay for it! What a crock!

I think they've gotten much better with descriptions and photos than the old days. If you're unsure, just don't buy.

Had a couple slow shippers who eventually responded, but I think in those cases they were just old hoarders who needed to be reminded to find my book and included it in their weekly trip to the post office in town.

Not trying to be a dick but....

You should have checked this before ordering.

I won't deal with anyone under 98% satisfaction and usually many transactions.

I've only bought (~50 items) but I'm zealous about responding & reporting.

Good luck, maybe they are just slow.
