I've only done it once. On the basin, this guy was all over the place. Speed fluctuating between 55 & 80, veering left and right, almost hitting other cars. I finally get a chance to pass and get clear of him. I see its a kid holding his tablet against the steering wheel and watching whatever's on it. Apparently I wasn't the only one who called, because getting off the basin there were 3 staties waiting.
I try to use the "That guy is definitely drunk" rule when informing the authorities because I'll make a TDM from time to time and don't want karma catching up with me.

I have actually thought about calling a friend in, but I can't do it. He gets fall down drunk and then drives. We steal his keys, he brings two sets. We lock the house, he jumps the fence. He needs to get a DUI.
If you're really his friend you'll call him in. You might be saving his life and/or someone else's.

Just out of curiosity, does it matter what jurisdiction you are in to use *lsp? I know it's state police but would you call them if it were in a neighborhood?

one time on the way back from Tuscaloosa in 2011. my girlfriend was driving while I took a nap, and she woke me up because some guy in a old Cadillac passed us going about 120(she claimed). this was somewhere in middle Mississippi. after about two minutes, we passed him and he was going about 45. next thing I knew he blew by us again swerving in and out of traffic, but not like someone racing. more like someone drunk or high, but something seemed off. we called 911 and gave them a mile marker, 10 minutes later we passed by him pulled over by a statie

I did on a guy that I think was smoked meth or crack. Dude was swerving from one side to the other of the interstate running into the guardrails. His tires were both turned completely perpendicular inwards to the car, and he was still driving along like nothing was wrong (other than swerving). I got right behind him to block other cars from trying to go around, and he started wigging out. I was already on the phone with LSP, and it seemed like they DGAF at all.
So this dude smashes head on into the barricade exit for Causeway, and then throws it into reverse and starts backing up onto the interstate. I wasn't going that way, and had already called the cops, so I kept on going

I do it all the time.
I'll rat out a bad driver on a drop of a dime.

Pretty sure LSP has jurisdiction anywhere in La. I could be wrong. At worst they'll get the info to the local authorities though.

Dawg,
Was this in Atlanta yesterday morning? My sister called 911 on a guy in a red truck who ended up on 285. She saw him run a red light in Decatur and then saw him again on 285. She kept 911 on the phone as she was behind him.
He almost hit several cars and did hit the guardrail--didn't faze him or slow him down. His truck started sputtering later and he ended up stopped on he right shoulder. Dude could've killed someone and almost did. I hope the cops caught up with him. She thinks he was probably on some hard-core drugs.

Is this a trap? Do I take the bait?

Night before Thanksgiving 2011. Followed a guy on I20 for about 10 miles weaving Hal in and out of lanes , swerving in and out of the emergency lane.

Once. My son races cars and was in a funk. I stashed some Colombian Bam Bam in his car and called the cops. It helped him in the long run. True story

Yep, I was going to let it go until I passed them and saw a kid in a car seat, then I called.
I've also had the cops called on me too. I thought I was being safe but apparently someone felt differently.

I've never called, but have considered it one time. I was behind a car on Hwy 42 in Prarieville that wasn't speeding, but was driving really erratically. Shoulder to shoulder on a two-lane road. I got around them at the first opportunity, but thought I should have called it in. Headed back home 30 minutes later and I come up on the scene of an accident. The car had crashed into someone else (people were ok) but the driver, who was definitely on something, had her kids in the car. They were being loaded in the back of an ambulance. I stopped and gave a statement about the erratic driving, but can't help but think I could have prevented the whole thing. I always tell myself I'll call next time, and it's probably the reason I started volunteering with CASA.

I drove the causeway daily for 7 years...yea, I called in a LOT of drivers.

About a year ago I was on the phone with 911 when the driver I was calling about swerved into oncoming traffic and hit someone head-on and spun them like a top.
