Have you ever called the number on commercial vehicles to report someone?

I almost got crunched by an 18 wheeler about 30 minutes ago and debated calling but I figure it goes to some call center that takes the info then sends it to the company who does nothing with it.

Once after an 18 wheeler ran me off the road on I12 towards Hammond. Nothing ever happened from it as the company said they would get back with me and they never did. Only reason I even got the number of the truck was because of someone else who saw what happened, got the number, and looped around to give it to me.

I almost called it on a USPS truck last year. I slowed down I was approaching a school zone and this fricking dumbass tailgated me honked their horn like a madman. Once they were able to get over, they honked their horn again and sped off.

No, I did have someone call my office on me once. Said I was driving reckless. I still have no idea what they were talking about. I told my boss he should have asked them to define reckless.

Nope, only because no good could really come from it.

Yes, I called and reported a truck for the most grievous of all traffic violations. The trucker was driving slow in the left lane.

I called a local company when I saw one of their drivers acting like an idiot. The owner described his physical appearance perfectly and thanked me for bringing it to his attention.

I've thought about it calling the number on a few local businesses vans/trucks (not 18 wheelers) but ultimately didn't because I figured I may end up talking to the driver if I called the number and I suppose that wouldn't be the best course of action.

Some of those numbers are with the company's insurance provider. They will use that info to raise the rates or flag a driver if they receive multiple calls on them.

The larger trucking companies, the calls would go to their safety department. If the truck had a drive cam, they would try to pull the tape and see what happened.
As for as disciplining the driver, if a driver has an occasional complaint, they might make him take a Smith System class and give him a talking to. If a driver gets a lot of complaints, he will get the boot.

please do and give details. it may not matter to all companies, but we would prefer to know what our drivers are doing. we have 18 cdl drivers, I have yet to fire one because of a call, but we do check out the calls and talk to the driver, have required additional training for some and sent others home for a few days to "think about it"

It 100% gets brought up to the driver's manager. One of my dad's drivers got bitched at because someone called and said he didn't use his blinker haha

I called once and have no clue what happened after that, probably nothing.

Driver was intentionally going from left to right lane to prevent anyone from passing. I was a few cars back and when a car finally escaped the moving road block he sped up to tailgate them about 5 ft away from their trunk. It was legit scary. I stayed behind him and called it in and waited until he calmed down and flew past him.

My wife was being harassed by a trucker on I-55 North. She called me crying saying he wouldn't stop speeding up in the right lane to look at her an wink and wave with a creepy smile. She got off the next exit and he did too then she got right back on and she did too.

She called the cops and eventually sped away and we have no idea what happened. That was legit scary.

I took a photo of the truck and everything. It was all so that he could stop at a store for a can of dip.

Called my local utility dept to tell them one of their drivers was driving like a drunk jackass. Had to Google the phone number, no "how's my driving?" sticker. Left a voicemail, no idea if he was reprimanded. But he was driving at least 10 mph under the speed limit. He gets to an intersection, stops to turn left (no blinker), sees someone he knows in another car coming out of the intersection, and pulls in front of an oncoming car to call out to his buddy. So he nearly got rear ended on the road, then T boned by oncoming traffic.
