A deputy near here pulled over a driver for some perceived poor driving. He did not give the guy a ticket, but he called his employer. The driver got fired.
Big PR stink ensued; opinions varied.

People call for our trucks ALOT. Most of them end up not adding up so guess it's just a holes trying to start trouble.
Our trucks have GPS and when called in they are pulled up right away and if they are in the area that the callers describes then we believe there may be validity to it
You would be surprised the amount of people that call in on trucks for supposedly smashing their windshield with a rock then give some bs truck number and when check the truck wasn't even in the area.

I've been called twice for the number on the back of my worktruck. I tend to be aggressive on the I-10.

we had them on our trucks at work several years back...and yes, they are taken seriously.
I have seen a few guys get fired when they had more than one substantiated report....the thing is that, as a supervisor, you have to figure out whether the driver was just being an arse or that he just made a simple mistake.
I can say that there are a ton of calls to those lines that are just total bullshite...people regularly call to report drivers when you know for a fact that they are nowhere in the area at that time. that is the reason that we removed the stickers from our fleet.

Screw that. Some trucked blew past me as we entered a small town. Speed limit was 45, which immediately turned into a 25mph school zone. It was about 7am.

I get calls occasionally, but we don't have stickers on our trucks or trailers. I always follow up, but its hard to do much other than counseling with out a statement or a bunch of details.
The people calling about rocks are always a trip. I tell them we don't haul rocks and that tends to confuse them..

Was it I10 Eastbound in between Lafayette and Baton Rouge? You were in the left lane? Big truck trying to ease in on the left too?

I call all the time. They aren't doing anything but I hate truckers so I make stuff up

yep...people just don't understand that stuff kicked up from the road is not the fault of the guy driving the truck.

Take it from the dude your calling to complain to, save your phone call.

Tasteless. Even though I think you're a huge choad, I would never say this towards you.

But if you did, I wouldn't screenshot your posts to try, and fail, to cause trouble.
Next time, *LSP
Report him driving erratically, give plate, and location.
Then follow him and call his call center.
Gps data will show he was pulled over on interstate around the time you filed a complaint.

I called around a decade or so ago but to tell the company that their driver saved my arse and to thank the driver for me. I was merging onto I-20 from I-65 slightly behind and to the side lane of an 18 wheeler. He gradually merged into my lane and made me brake. I was pissed at first but then realized he saved my arse because there was a washing machine sitting in the middle of my lane. I wouldn't have seen it and would've wrecked into it without him.
