If so, how did it go (or how is it going) ?
Feel and look great......., modem diets are so unhealthy especially Cajun/Creole/ Italian/Mexican.
Think about it...boudin, jambalaya, roux, cream sauces, French bread, pasta, pizza, tacos, fajitas, rice...don't even get me started on a alcohol and deserts.
Give it up and it will be life changing.

Lima beans- that’s the WORST. I LOVE Lima beans
Yeah, for my wife it was popcorn. She loves popcorn. For me it’s a bunch of things but especially rice.
A carnivore diet sounds to me a lot like keto.

Carnivore is strictly meat- no veggies or sides. Keto/low carb is meat/veggies, and my preference by far. Both are keto based diets, but one is obviously more strict than the other.

Yeah I’d get tired of strictly meat and I don’t understand the benefit of cutting out green vegetables. But both are low carb which alone is difficult.

I have been on a Carnivore diet for over 1 1/2 years.
Lost about 40 lbs in the first 3 months. Overall, went from a 36" waist to a 32" waist. I'll likely stay on it always.
Since I am, now at my desired wight, my only deviation is that I added to my diet the 2 things that I missed most:
- salads and blueberry smoothies.
I feel great!

The reality is unless you're a fairly wealthy person with a lot of free time it's extremely difficult to sustain the cost and time of cooking a variety of high quality meats that you would actually want to eat for weeks on end.
It's actually just the opposite. For me, my food cost is less.
The main thing it requires is planning ahead for groceries.
Steak, ham, brisket, bacon, seafood, eggs,...it's the same stuff you normally eat, just without the sugars and carbs.

Congrats man! I've been cleaning up my diet lately and am looking to go carnivore in the near future.

It is a relatively dumb diet.
If you studied biology in high school and/or have a basic understanding of evolution and human history you'd understand that carnivore and keto are not dumb they're just common sense.
Carnivore and keto style diets are just us reverting to a diet that better mimics what humans evolved consuming. Hundreds of thousands of years we spent evolving while eating animals and foraging for nutrient dense plants. High fat meat and nutrient dense fruits have always been the most prized and healthy foods for us. Why are they the most expensive raw foods in the grocery store? Because our bodies demand these nutrients.
Agriculture is a relatively new invention for humans. Grains and vegetables are something that allowed humans to have a more consistent and reliable food source but that doesn't mean they are the most healthy for us. We've only been evolving with these foods for maybe 10-20 thousand years. They aren't nearly as nutritious as meat and fruit.
Modern ultra processed foods have maybe been around for a couple hundred years. Most of it has been within the last 100 years. Surprise surprise now everyone is fat. We've had practically zero evolution involving these foods. If it comes in a box or a bag, it is 99.9 % probably bad for you.

I have. The bowel movements are shocking.
Add some organic psyllium husk to your daily diet. Tastes like rope, but it gives me some elite dumps.

Yes, have done it once before a couple years ago and couldn't stick to it.. lost some weight and felt good... Just couldn't fully adapt to it due to lack of food options..
I started it again at the beginning of the summer with a better plan of attack on food and I'm fasting with it .. I'm down 30 plus pounds thus far.. sleep better , feel better.. have plenty of energy... Definitely worth giving a shot .. especially if you're needing to drop a few pounds
I'll look into this too. I'm one of many who need to drop some lbs as well.

The OMAD One Meal A Day diet works great. Takes a couple of days mentally to get going but after that the pounds come off. Drink a lot of water. Just know you can’t eat “anything” during the 1 hour window. Binge a lot of junk and You’ll have serious gastric problems.

Long sustained effort workouts and Carnivore are not ideal.
This just isn’t true. You need fats for energy. People who are on Carnivore and don’t have proper energy levels aren’t eating enough fat. You need fats or carbs but not both for energy. An actual proper Carnivore diet provides plenty of fats. People think they are doing Carnivore but really aren’t.
I’ve lost about 50 iq points reading all the incorrect bullshite in this thread. Fatties get over to the H&F forum to actually learn about proper diet training and exercise. You won’t find it on here with people spouting a bunch of old wives tales about diet and training.

I did many years ago and lost 20 lbs in 14 days. I was about 30 lbs. overweight. I later read a book on fiber and went on a high fiber diet and lost too much weight. I now just watch my calories and eat slower.

Eat less
Eat better
Eat slower
Sleep more
Brisk 20 minute walk every day
Lift weights a couple times a week
Meditate (I do this in the shower
)
It isn't complicated, but still seems hard for most.

I tried it before a vacation to Punta Cana.
It worked for me, but can get expensive.
Also tried the eat right for your blood type diet.
Since I'm Type O, it also involves a lot of meat and poultry protein.
Eat what your ancestors ate is the idea behind this diet.

If you want to argue the point seek out nutritionists for elite and World Tour cyclists. They will tell you how wrong you are assuming your definition of long sustained effort is similar to mine.
I will give you an example, I take in ~70 grams of carbs (in the form of simple sugars) per hour during intense training or a race. Without this constant input I will bonk. The body simply can't turn fats into energy fast enough to meet the body's needs in this kind of exercise.
There is a reason these are full of sugar and not pureed bacon
You can see the same effect giving a 4yo a 12oz Mountain Dew, he will be bouncing off the walls in minutes, give him 2oz of ribeye and the energy buildup will be completely different.

Yea this thread has nothing to do with extreme level endurance sports, where your pushing your body to its limits for hours. This is basic day to day nutrition. Those gu packets aren’t good for your health just because they help you reach your PR time and help you not bonk. Are steroids good for you because they help you perform better? You could also probably just make a concoction of blended fruit and honey put it in a bag and get the same results as those packets.

I guess i do something close to modified version of it. I include fruit to help with natural carbs. Got off all processed foods, sugar and seed oils. I eat 3 eggs every morning, steak or hamburger patties 5-6 times a week with fish, chicken, shrimp and pork for the other meals. Eat tons of cheese and dairy. Gave up beer but still have a nightly bourbon. Lost 20 pounds with moderate exercise and my LDL dropped 40 points.
ETA - I used to take ibuprofen religiously for back and knee pain. Since cutting out all of the inflammatory foods, I no longer take that poison (unless severely hung over) nor do I need my Flonase any longer.

Nobody on here is talking about cycling or cyclists.
Plenty of people do high intensity prolonged workouts in a gym on a Carnivore diet. Me included. I have zero issues with fatigue or anything and I get 0 carbs per day. None. I get plenty of fat every single day which is key.
