re: Have any of you ever found out how much $ a co-worker makes?

I work in a position where I have access to salaries of the group I support, not my direct co-workers. Can be depressing to see what some people make (well over $100k) when their output is complete crap and they come up with every excuse in the book. They must be good at something I’m not seeing.

“I’ve been THEIR almost 20 years”. Learn English then ask for a raise

I see what everyone makes. An assistant pm and estimator and do all the financial analysis for my company because apparently I’m the only one who knows how. The other assistant pm (doesn’t estimate) makes literally double the amount I do. The PM they are an assistant to does a third of the work mine does, so they have a third of the work to do. But, he is 15 years older than me and had more experience in general I guess.
Can’t fret over what other people make. Just do you and if you don’t feel like your paid enough, look for another job.

I know what every employee makes.
Most of the people who work for me make more than I.

I always make it my business to know what everyone else in the organization makes.

Ive been working with them a few monthsand the Employee is totally inept and come to find out they started them out making 20k more than I currently do. I have no idea how they sold them selves as being that valuable to the company. I’ve been their almost 10 years.
LOL, get your story straight!
I see reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.

Exactly. Nice lady but not worth near what they are paying her. I think she did a great job selling someone on her skills.

I look at what everyone makes

Yep. I’ve known people who left a company for same position but more money. They came back to the first company for same position but more money.
They use you, you use them. Life.

Only once. Me and another new hire laid it all on the line one night about a year after starting. I started about 15% higher and got more than twice the raise after year one. Talk about awkward

Where am I wrong?
ETA, never mind, I see it now. My bad.

'Worked with them', the OP was using the singular indefinite pronoun or singular noun antecedent in place of the definite masculine him or the definite feminine her, to describe the new employee, not the employer.

Insist to your boss about a raise.
I've had to do this shite before. If you are tough to replace they'll give it to you.

Yes because I approve all salaries if they aren't hired on scale

I used to work for the government, so it was easy to know how much people made. I’m pretty sure people didn’t like me because I was the youngest person on the project and was roughly in the top 10% in regards to salary.
After working there I started working for a private company and I had people tell me how much they made, but I kept silent because I made more than them and we were in basically the same position.

I love finding out that someone makes more than me. I don't get jealous though. It just motivates me to 1) work harder, 2) ask for a raise, 3) find a new job that will pay me more.

Eh, I recently found out that my boss, who is dogshit at her job, received a 9% raise while the rest of the company was told that the company couldn't afford more than a 2% SOL adjustment.
Employees jump ship because company loyalty only ever ran one way. I'm outta this place ASAP.

Work on a government contract. I know exactly what all my peers make, which is exactly what I make.
