My brother in law, who had a fruitfly problem in his kitchen, swears by this new technique. I just witnessed his fruitfly-free house. He tried bleach in the drains. He tried the traps available for sale. One evening he was trying the Ghost in the Machine from Parish brewery. He noticed the fruit flies swarming it. He poured one in a bowl and the next morning the problem was history. Waste of an awesome beer if you ask me but I'll be damned if it didn't work.

You can also put red wine in a cup, cover it with Saran Wrap, poke some holes in the wrap, and it'll capture them.

Nothing new about that. Those little frickers love beer. I think they're attracted to the CO2 (like love bugs).

They're attracted to anything fermented. Apple Cider Vinegar works too

You still need to kill the next generation. He probs my net happened to destroy the breeding grounds. If this is a solution them you would.never see them in bars

What's the deal with the clorox in the drains? Is that where they nest?

That was an example of a solution that didn't work as well as his beer trick.

Yeah. Especially if you have a garbage disposal. Boiling water also works. I also try to run a little vinegar through it when the disposal is running.

Red solo cup, apple cider vinegar, and dish soap.

Put about an inch of vinegar in the cup and add a drop or two of dish soap. They'll fall in due to the decreased surface tension.

Wow, auto correct got me there. I was saying it takes more than that. If they have a breeding ground elsewhere then the next generation will just come along.

Or poke a hole in the cap of a bottled water bottle and put apple cider vinegar in it (with one drop of dish soap).
