Have 2 companies in the oilfield. Heard early last week that OTC might be cancelled.

Didn't post it here or anywhere else just in wait and see mode. Well with the Houston rodeo shutting down I would say OTC (Offshore Technology Conference) cancelling is all but a formality now.

Ironically I have been looking for airfare price drops to Brazil and Norway and they aren't moving yet. Doing a little bargain shopping for planned April trips but no deals yet.

Sad news for Houston area strippers if OTC gets cancelled.

There's no way the OTC doesn't get cancelled. People go to that thing from all over the world.

I’m afraid it’s inevitable.

OTC always has tons of international and especially Chinese exhibitors

If the price of oil stays around $30/bbl, it is doubtful they would reschedule

If you’ve never been, Go to Norway. The women and the scenery are phenomenal. It is expensive AF, tho.

I'm already eyeing a flight in May. Already dropped $300 a ticket.

Not really.... Waste Expo was scheduled to be in New Orleans during the same week and it’s been pushed back to August

Waste Expo is not as big as OTC, but it is still a very large trade show

Even though it's a ways out, I would think the cancellation of a huge international trade show would be the obvious move considering everything else that's going on

Been going to Norway for a long time. Just there in January. My wife is Swedish... so kind of Norwegian. No pics.

Probably not a bad idea considering the amount of overseas attendees and hookers that attend.

They have more than just CoronaVirus being spread around

I would have said no way last week but think it is inevitable now.

Talked with my Freeman contact last week and they said not even rumors yet about canceling. I haven’t checked this week.

I wonder if all the prostitutes that come to town for OTC can claim the business loss on their taxes at the end of the year...

I have heard lots of rumors of the same. With the number of Chinese/Italians that come in it will be hard not to cancel.

Southern Gas Association just cancelled all their events until the fall and they don't have many international visitors.

That isn’t a thing... for ANY business. A lack of revenue isn’t reported as anything.
