My office? Hell no.

I did work for a lady at LSU whose office was just like that. She had worked for the university for a long, long time and was a huge believer in backing up everything on her computer with a paper copy. She had shite going back for years. Her office was a disaster but she could put her mitts on any specific document of correspondence that you were looking for in under thirty seconds. If anyone commented on the state of her office, she would just say there was a "method to her madness" and it was only "organized chaos."

Don't know why that guy keeps all those papers when he could easily store the data on his Windows 2.3 machine.

There was a brownstone in New York where some brothers lived a hoarders life. Kind of interesting.

Bet $100 that old crusty bastard could find anything in that stack in under five minutes.

I had a college professor who wrote many books and articles, and his office looked like that, but he knew where everything was and could lay his hands on it in seconds.

He had stuff stacked to the ceiling, but knew what was in every stack.

no, would give me huge anxiety. clean working space needed.

if shite is in common shared space and sitting out for more than a few days that gets tossed by me as well.

I used to work with a guy who kept his office way worse than that. He got lunch waitred every single day and would just throw his trash in the overflowing garbage can, then it spilled onto the floor.

He literally had a trail from his door to his desk that he would clear each day with his foot. It stunk and there were ants all the time. He posts here, by the way, and my boss at the time (who also is a regular OTer and friend) finally had enough and forced him to take a couple hours one day to clean his office. Sadly it was right back at the same level a few weeks later. He was a sloppy dude but ole baw had some issues. Felt bad for him with his health issues but it was no excuse to keep his office the way he did.

I’d rather go camping with Brian Laundrie than work in that office

One time I had a meltdown in the office and things got a little scattered. But I cleaned up the mess shortly thereafter and resumed my day.

That’s not messy. It’s full. He knows exactly where everything is, I’m sure of it.
