Has there been a virus before that so specifically targeted old people and obese people?

One would expect that older people would be more vulnerable to these things, but has any virus or bacteria ever been so statistically skewed towards killing old people before?

Every virus ever has a higher mortality rate with the elderly.

It's just a weak virus and those are compromised individuals.

Elderly and obese tend to be most susceptible to all viruses. Unhealthy and lower immune systems

Besides all of them?

Well, sometimes it goes after the really young who don’t have immune systems too.

I’m not sure you understand what a virus is. Of course it’s going to target the elderly and immune compromised individuals. But I’m sure you have a reasonable conspiracy theory.

Higher, sure but has any been so much higher? Do you understand the nuance of the question?

BTW, the Spanish Flu killed more young people than old people.

Most strains of influenza. Also, your immune system begins to diminish as you older at some point and recovery slows as well.

I'm asking about skewing. So according to you every virus has the same distribution of mortality amongst age groups and there isn't one that is more skewed towards older people? Weird. That's equity, I guess?

BTW, Spanish Flu, the last major pandemic we had definitely preferred younger adults than older adults. So there goes your whole narrative.

So you're saying that the regular flu is just as disproportionately deadly for old people than it is younger people? Do you have data to back this up?

It's a "conspiracy theory" that illness often affects the elderly more severely? Have you ever heard of "the flu"?

Holy shite. You're a moron!

In 2018, the death rate from influenza and pneumonia among persons aged =65 years was 93.2 deaths per 100,000 population. Death rates increased with age from 31.7 deaths per 100,000 population among adults aged 65–74 years, to 94.2 among adults aged 75–84 years, to 377.6 among those aged =85 years. Rates increased with age for both men and women, and in each age group the death rates were higher for men than for women.

The virus, like all viruses, affects people with lower immune systems.

What’s unique is that since it affects the lungs so badly, it puts obese people at a greater risk.

Covid really fawks with your lungs. Some doctors are saying covid, even if not severe, is showing permanent damage to some patient’s lungs.

Covid is a bad bitch. Yes, it was overhyped for healthy people, but it was not overhyped for those at risk.

The virus doesn't "target" fat or old people. It's just fat and old people don't have much immunity, are already in poor health, and die easier.
