This board was very helpful in all things Katrina from leading up to the storm to helping after for every imaginable problem that arose for at least a good year. It was a good support group.

As bad as it can be from time to time the OT can be a really compassionate place.

OK, so does the OT do anything other than complain or RUIN PEOPLE'S lives?

I was thinking of something more pedestrian, like setting up a better tailgate party, or organizing a ticket brokering system for the Texas game.

There is a magical group of beer nerds here that have a special gathering every year. Posters from out of state come and/or send beer.

The OT is a funny place. A den of iniquity capable of vileness and perversion, able to ruin lives and relationships.

But also a font of good advice, hard truths that can only be told by complete strangers even when people don’t want to hear what they need to hear.

And then i’ve Seen the brightness and goodness of humanity shine forth on here when the chips are down. True brotherhood and hope and empathy.

It’s a mixed bag.

Pretty sure the OT located someone's stolen vehicle before the five 0 could.

I'm vaguely remembering this (and could be wrong), but I recall the OT intervening when a guy here threatened to kill himself. Pretty sure some poster alerted the local authorities.
