Has The Media Backed Off On The COVID19 Coverage?

First, I only watch the news in the morning on CBS and I get notifications on my phone from WAFB, CBS and the AP. I think overconsumption of news is not healthy.
With that said, it seems like 2.. 3 weeks ago I was getting a lot of notifications related to COVID19. The AP, CBS and WAFB were sending notifications left and right. Then the past past week it slowed down.
I am not talking about what you see on CNN & Fox or any other cable news station, I am sure that is all they are covering since it is pretty much the only news story, but I noticed that in the morning CBS has had more "feel good" type stories.
I am not saying this is what's going on, its just a theory.. But does anyone think that the media was hyping this up at first to get people's attention so they will take it serious and then as people started having growing anxiety and fear the media has decided to back off on how they cover COVID19?
This is just an observation. I could be completely wrong, but what do you think?

A few things are happening.
1. People found out who it’s impacting the most
2. Hospitals aren’t overwhelmed
3. People don’t have long attention spans are are growing tired of this
This combines into not being the media money maker it was a month ago

So what is the media's money maker right now?

They’ll cook something up in a few days

Maybe so, but as long as things remain as they are, there isn't much to cover and/or they not going to send reporters out to be exposed to a lot of people.

Media buyers started calling to renegotiate or remove ads. They realized they’re screwed too if this continues longer.

It's only April. I can only imagine what they have planned for November

Once it kicks back up its going to be nothing but the election.

I swear some of you wouldn't know what to do with yourselves if you didn't have your media boogeyman to blame everything on.

I'm thinking immigration again. Or has that "crisis" been resolved?

Coronavirus and travel bans solved that crisis

You blew past left field and went straight to the parking lot on that one.

Some hospitals aren't overwhelmed. Some are. That is why states are turning soccer fields and convention centers into hospitals.
The gym around the corner from my house is becoming a field hospital. I don't know why - my whole county only has 950 cases out of 600,000 people. (For comparison Jefferson Parish has 430,000 people and 4,600 cases).
The gym is the Newtown Athletic Club. And they will only take non-covid cases.

The media sells injury attorney services, cars, and insurance. So whatever drama that can be sensationalized to lure people to watch will get coverage.

back to business as usual ...

Coronavirus surely helped convince some of the bleeding hearts that it’s okay to filter through “huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
