Has being in a relationship ever cost you someone near and dear to your heart?

My best buddy and roommate in college married a real uppity broad. She was a debutante and the whole 9 yds. She hated me and turned my longtime friend against me. She made him pick and he chose his wife. I understood and really didn't like him much anymore anyway.

There was a group of us friends, 3 guys and 2 girls, that used to hang out 3-4 times a week since high school. When the girls' now spouses came along, they refused to let us hang out anymore, even with them there. Haven't seen them since. 10 year friendship down the drain just like that.

Yeah I knew they were manipulative. I didn't realize to what extent.
