What an amazing tale. Loved reading this thread from the beginning. Really does put things in perspective and faith back in humanity.

Congratulations Rico and James. I’m sure with a little love and time, Rico will be back to his old self soon (same with you James after the accident)

Great work Pandy, Jodyplauche, Americangirl, Cootkilla, Proximo, Swagga and Insee. Also the OT for donations and positive thoughts throughout.

God Bless you all

I was thinking of buy one for my German Shepard. The amount you paid is just for the collar and a free 30 trial for the LTE tracking. After 30 days, you will need to pick a plan for an additional cost. Otherwise the tracking is limited to just your base station and Wifi range.

The Series 3 is more expensive, but you have more satellites to pinpoint the location and better cellular coverage. The cost of the collar is factored into the monthly monitoring costs.

Glad this story came out on a positive note.

Just a suggestion, get your pets microchipped. It's pretty cheap and it will always be there.

microchips are great but only if someone finds your dog and takes them to a vet to be scanned. A GPS tag AND a microchip would be the absolute best if someone can afford it!

Also suggest getting your phone number embroidered onto the pet's collars.

I’ll handle it for him when the free month is up , it wouldn’t let me pay out right for some reason.

The series 3 is more expensive monthly and I didn’t want it to be burdensome down the line when the donated plan runs out

Excellent idea. Takes Paws Rescue, and ARNO are two groups in the NOLA area that do great work in rescuing and finding homes for dogs and other pets. They can always use some extra support.

My two girls are from Take Paws. Awesome organization.

I just want to give a huge shout out to those folks who donated to Rico’s Christmas gift. Even if you didn’t have a hand early on, you’re also immortalized by keeping him safe in the future.

I’ll make a special update to this thread when it’s received and we can give it to them, but the collar takes about 3-4 weeks to be produced.

Rico’s custom good boi collar is now on order, and I’ll purchase the subscription plan for James ($10/mo) once his free month is up.

Should he ever decide to drop a mixtape about his experiences in the East. He should go with Rico East as his rap name.

Catching up on this from last night. I went out to celebrate Rico's return.

Love his new collar. He is going to look so handsome in it.

That picture of him in his favorite chair resting was the prize.

I am just really seeing this. I would love some cliffs of all what went on here. Seems like a great thing that the OT was able to help with.

to those of you unfamiliar with the area I can’t emphasize enough how awesome this is. It’s part wildlife preserve, part illegal dumping ground, and part one of the most dangerous areas in the city of New Orleans.

Proximo going out there at night is one of the most amazing acts I’ve seen on the OT. He’s got way bigger balls than me

I know that area well. Use to hunt out there and spent many weekends at a girlfriends camp in Little Woods when it was considered safe … late 80’s.

For those not knowing of the geographics and demographics, that area is often times seen on The First 48. Common area for criminals to shoot people, put the body in the trunk, and burn the vehicle. Police do not like going there during daylight hours. In addition to an area that has some of the largest cane brake rattlesnakes anywhere. Proximo definitely has testicles the size of bowling balls .

Kudos to all involved. This has been nothing short of a miracle perpetuated by the strength of the OT. Thank you Pandy for initiating the thread and glad Rico is home safe

I started a thread and put out some dog food. Jodyplauche, Americangirl, cootkilla, Proximo, swagga, Insee and some others I'm probably leaving out did the work.

to all of you, what a great thread this was.

My pup of 14 years passed a few months ago, and it’s not the same without him. Dogs are the greatest ever. Glad Rico is home, and hope all in the car accident are recovering.
