Second day in a row I've seen what looks like a black shepard mix abandoned out there. It's wearing a red collar/scarve and a leash.
I would've stopped but was on my way to work and couldn't. I called the ASPCA and they directed me to the non-emergency line of the NOPD. They said they would check it out. Do you think they will?
My guess is someone stole a car with a dog in it and just abandoned that dog.

BLACK SHEPHERD DOWN
Update 10 pm Friday, day of rescue:
ETA for posterity: 11/4/22 text from James on Rico with his pic:
“He's very cautious and slow moving
but he drank a lot and I checked his
body for pain and ticks and he seems
fine. But we got hit by the last 3 cars
in the pile up, I'm sure he's feeling it
still and being out there like that.
That's his spot of the house on the
chair. He's been sitting there most of
the day.
Man that page got my boy back for me bro. You all helped me find my best friend”

I went that way Tues and Wed did not see it. Headed that way this afternoon. What side of road is it on?

Hell no, you live in the East?
Someone should stop and see if it has a number on the tag or take it to a vet to see if it has a chip

Maybe if someone is just out that way and see it, they can leave some food and water and I'll try and pick it up Saturday. It's the best I can do.

Well I know where the dog is. I just can't get to it until Saturday. It could be dead by then. It's someone's pet. It's wearing a leash and a red collar/scarve. 2 days now at least.
