If so, how?

Get a woman that treats you good.

Talk to someone about it, get things off your chest, get out the house and do something different.
A lot of people with depression just wall themselves off and that only makes it worse

Every man needs a purpose. If you aren't doing much then identify what it is you enjoy and pursue it to no end.

Yes! I struggled for over 10 years with it and severe anxiety was on a variety of meds. I got off of all meds two years ago and by the grace of God, depression is mostly nonexistent for me.
The biggest thing that helped me was cutting out toxic, negative and unnecessary people and things from my life. Then, strengthening areas little by little that mean something to me-my spiritual life, an hour or more a day of walking, and retraining my brain to appreciate and be grateful for even the basics in my life.
It was very important for me to learn to not be so hard on myself and that I’m human and undoing the past is impossible. If you’re struggling with it, I hope things get better for you really soon, and I’ll pray for you! Prayers have been tremendous for me. I wish you the best.

It’s tough because some people’s brains are just genetically wired differently. I used to struggle with anxiety for no reason. I still do once every month or 2. Like sitting alone watching TV in a completely fine mood and bam, my body would go to fight or flight and cause uncomfortable symptoms for no reason. And I dont have social anxiety personally, just episodes of anxiety when i was usually alone. I Had little bouts of depression because of this. Started realizing alcohol was causing a lot of these issues. It would just mess with my brain for a day or 2 after drinking. And when you drink a lot, it can and will keep you anxious and depressed. I drink 2-3 times a month now for social occasions and sports though compared to the most nights per week I did for several years.
I started setting goals which I never did much growing up through high school and college. Exercise 5-6 days a week. Eat healthy 6 days a week. Lost a good bit of weight. I just feel better 95% of the time vs feeling good only about 30% of the time. If you go through anxiety/depression, from what I know, it wont ever fully go away, but you learn to deal with it A LOT better and life just becomes easier. If im having a bad day with anxiety, I go for a jog. Instantly feel better. Beats the hell out of drinking several drinks, feeling like shite the next day, and then feeling too bad to do much.
Lifestyle changes! They are tough at first, but once you get over that hump and start helping your body out, youll thank yourself for it.

This. I don’t think people realize how much our physical health affects our mental health. Not saying this is the 100% cure but it’s ALWAYS one of the first steps in the process.

Yes, AA meetings. The 12 steps are equally applicable to alcoholics and non-alcoholics. Only the first half of the first step even mentions alcohol and you can sub in whatever word fits your situation.
We admitted we were powerless over ______, that our lives had become unmanageable.
The blank can be filled in with alcohol, drugs, depression, anxiety, remorse, etc.

Accept that no one, no thing can undo what you think/feel as that belongs to you and only you
Examine your priorities and the whys behind them
Learn how to be joyful for others and enjoy your blessings for just because
Consider an antidepressant
Groom your heart, mind and body so that it works in a coordinated manner
Allow one, maybe two, people to keep you accountable

Yeah I don't know if it's something you can really conquer.

You’ll look back later and realize what a drag they were on your outlook (not the PC program) and attitude.

Talk to your doctor about supplementing with zinc. Studies have shown that zinc can really help people with depression. I never understood what depression was until I developed is zinc deficiency and then it was obvious to me. You don't wanna take too much zinc try 25 mg of zinc sulfate every other day and see what happens.

Not sure you ever conquer depression, but learn how to control it with therapy & the right meds.

1). Move. When your feet are stuck in concrete, move. Even a little helps.
2). Little victories. If you are trapped in bed, resolve to get your feet on the floor. That’s a win. Build on that. Resolve to brush your teeth. Another win. Keep building momentum.
3). Micro lists. Make a damn list, but make it achievable. My list started with “Turn computer on.” It was movement, a win, and built momentum. Sometimes that’s the most I could get done as a first step.
4). Sunshine. Get it. Even a little helps.
5). Process emotion. I don’t know about anyone else. I know about me. If I’m trapped, it’s because there’s something deep I don’t want to deal with. I have to feel it and get past it to get back.
6). See a doctor. Antidepressants helped me remember what it was like to feel normal. They take weeks to work, so start them now. I found that once they reset me, I didn’t need them long term. Lots of people do.
7). See a counselor. There’s stuff you won’t tell your friends and they won’t or can’t tell you. Almost any counseling session will help. Don’t know what to say? Start with this: I think I’m depressed.
Frick the haters. It’s real. It’s defeatable, and after a while you know your signs and your way out. Good luck.
