Power out from 6:59am-9:12am but has been on since. Internet hasn’t worked all day but luckily I have DVD’s and a hot spot to get me through

I’m in BBT. We haven’t lost power. YET. If it gets too bad holla at me and I’ll put you up for the night.
Also - I hear a critter in my attic. I’ve never heard that before. Rat? Squirrel? Racoon? I’m not checking it out now, whatever it is , I’m pulling for it to make it through the night. I even built a little waterproof shelter with a heavy cover in the backyard for any stray cat or whatever looking for warmth.

All I have to say is: so much for Texas’ power grid as one of the selling points for independence. That motherfricker has been down since last night and can’t even contact the power company for an ETA on restoration. Because their power, and all forms of communication are down.

Still no power. Sent the kids to my parents. Running water through the faucets periodically to keep pipes from freezing up.
It’s cold but I’ve bundled up. Have books to read. Candles when it gets dark. Lots of blankets.

Damn - I don’t have any electric heaters - we’ve always had gas - keep warm!! I do have extra blankets ... and jackets ... if you need them ... we could figure something out
