I played in a scramble when I lived in Denver. Our last hole was the par 5 with the longest drive card in the fairway. Borrowed my buddy's new PING driver to try it out and proceeded to flush one to win the long drive by about 20 yards. I then hit a 5 or 6 iron to 20 ft and we all missed the eagle putt. I ended up winning some bullshite laser level gadget.

several but never in a big tournament, just some local scrambles. A few of them were good drives.

I have a buddy that was a sponsored long drive guy that actually went to Vegas for a long drive competition. Dude was bonkers off the tee, like 6'6 270 and could drum it.

Closest and hole in one were two different holes.

Closest was 3. Hole in one was 8, for 25k.

I've won a couple in some scrambles. Ping G-10 back in the day and then Taylor Made SLDR more recently. Tall with long arms helps in getting the driver head through when you really go at the ball.
