Was waiting for this thread. I've won one but it was ridiculous. Only about 8 groups had played the hole before rain

Playing in the Mr. Mudbug tournament at Lakewood years ago. There was 24 foursomes. My group was the second to last group playing the long drive hole. I was legitimately 20 yards past the stake in the middle of the fairway for the current leader, around 280. With only 1 foursome left to beat me, do you think I won the longest drive?? The prize was a Big Beartha Warbird driver. The winner was laughing as he claimed his prize. Found out later he was a 22 handicap golfer. Guess he just got a little lucky!!

That's basically what happened to me on #4, except I won.
The closest to the pin hole was on #3. Dude hit it to 2 feet. It was playing 114 yds into a 15 mph wind. lmao
I asked him what he hit and he said 9 iron.

I was playing in a one day 4 man scramble in Palm Springs with my father-in-law and two of his coworkers. We were the second to last group and number 17 was the long drive hole. I pissed on one and moved the marker to the spot my ball stopped. I take a look back on the tee box and see a few over weight middle aged men and think I have this in the bag. After the rounds, during the lunch they begin announcing the prizes for the gimmick holes. When hole 17winner was about to be announced I began to slide my chair back,... they called some other name and it was some young college kid who played at Florida. Someone later told he was the one who blew the 5 shoot lead to Tiger in his first jr amateur.
