Doing it Friday. I saw my family doctor on March 10th, the day before the NBA shut down. My doctor and I thought I had a sinus infection that had gotten into my chest. He gave me a Z-Pak, and I felt better less than a week later. I have to have blood drawn for something else monthly. They called and asked if I wanted to do it then.

Yes, blood draw. Test added to routine bloodwork and run by LabCorp. Negative.

Either the tests are flawed or there was some variation of illness that wasn't COVID-19 floating around earlier this year

I'm going with flawed.

I know of a situation where 3 doctors were exposed without wearing PPE in the very early stages of the virus at the same time in the same room by the same patient.

Doc A tested negative on having Covid19. Twice.
Docs B & C tested positive.

Last week they tested all 3 for antibodies.

Doc A tested positive for antibodies
Doc B tested negative
Doc C tested positive

Wife and I did yesterday. Waiting on results. Nurse said the number of positives has been extremely low.

I want to take one but can't seem to find a one that is CDC approved near me. I am virtually certain I had it in early March. I spent the last 10 days of February in NYC - in crowded conference rooms with folks from SE Asia and Japan, taking the subway, restaurants, crowded bars. About 5 days late I was sick as a dog for 3 days.

I had a true blood draw test that came back Negative but I don’t believe it. I’m pretty certain I had it back in January with all the symptoms and everything. There are a lot of false negatives and a lot of false positives out there.

LabCorp

What kind of antibody test is LabCorp doing? I remember an older discussion when this came up and whatever EUA labcorp referenced was their original molecular screen test for the virus not the anti-body test. I relooked are FDA & John Hopkins and don't see anything on their test or what type of test LapCorp Is doing.

Did they partner with someone else or using another company's test?

Most of the antibody tests are crap. The RT-PCR tests will show you have it at least weeks after you are all healed up due it CAN pick of demolished fragments still floating in your system. There are people who were confirmed to have it and antibody tests show ZERO antibodies afterwards. Study released from Korea on 5/19.

You are pissing in the wind to think tests prove anything

A friend is at Ochsner Baptist in NOLA and was given a choice of working Covid "Dungeon" ICU or furlough. He chose to work. None of the staff there tested positive afterwards.

Same with a biz friend's daughter at BR General ICU who only worked CV ICU for over a month.

Apparently even those are coming into question

Actual testing on tests has been low. Even besides the quality of each test Most are testing for the IgG which needs time after symptoms start, and there is little info & limited ability to test here on what tests will still pick it up 60 to 90 days after start of symptoms with reduced levels or even what levels will offer better immunity. Some appear to be better cost and speed wise for screening large numbers across country for exposure in past month or so and aren't testing quantity or levels of antibodies, but i have no clue if that changes ability to pick up an antibody after this time frame.

Right now I trust a positive antibody result more than a negative result, but I also don't think narrowing down to most accurate tests will come close to showing everyone who thinks they had it already actually did have it. Flu was still going around, and those rapid flu tests are notorious for false negatives. Plus the 'cold' part of cold and flu season.

Opening up was still delayed too long in many areas (and still being delayed too long or moving too slowly in some areas). Phases should have started earlier in many areas. We may find we have less immunity as a country by end of summer and the beginning of school in fall as we are still waiting on a vaccine, and that we have created worse economic and health issues going beyond 2 to 3 weeks with country wide shutdowns/stay at home orders than we helped (or state wide for some after opening phases started elsewhere).

My doctor tested positive for antibodies. He did the real blood test, not the finger prick, when I went in for check up. Took about a week to get results. Came back negative.

Finger prick, looked like pregnancy test kit and results in 2 minutes> Negative.
In 2nd half of March had terrible dry cough, burning sensation in trachea and felt 100% extremely sick, but no fever. I’m convinced I had it, never felt that crappy from the flu or strep throat.
