It also killed 10,000 innocent hemophiliacs. Read "Vial 023: A Father's Pursuit of Justice"

I was buying some gabagool for dinner from a guy in the back of a strip club. Was probably in the mob.

Was it it in northern New Jersey? Did he have a friend who looked exactly like the guitarist from the E Street Band?

For a brief period I worked for a high ranking member of the Philly mob in one of his legitimate businesses.

I was involved heavily in some business dealings with the Hells Angels back in the 90s. The mob are Boy Scouts compared to the Angels. You watch your step real close.

I use to work at one of Vincent Marcello’s bars in the quarter circa 2008. Great guy to work for and very generous to his staff - that being said wouldn’t want to be on his bad side.

My mom married a Sicilian mobster. She said she knew she made a massive mistake and wanted to run away on their wedding day. Dude ended up going to prison for trafficking drugs which I’m assuming got him whacked as that was a big no no in the 80’s with the mob I believe.

Lafayette has always had what is called the Lebanese Mafia, the Asheys, Reggies, Abdallas, all were large families & all were / are very much connected. Note that Senator Kennedy, of the Boston Kennedys, married one of Judge Reggie's daughters & EWE & Judge Reggie were well known "business associates". MANY races at Evangeline Downs, when it was in Lafayette & managed by the older Ashey, had races fixed like clockwork. My buddy would drive in at least once a mth to bet on a specific horse. Said horse's name being given to him by a "friend" in New Jersey.

Played cards every week with someone from one of the families mentioned above for a year or so. Also used to give a bookie some business when I was in college, but always paid my debts when I lost and never had any problems as a result.

My aunt owned a house in Galveston originally built by Depression-era mob boss Sam "the Velvet Glove" Maceo. Apparently his wife was in a wheelchair so it was 5000+ sq ft, single story with wheelchair access throughout. Even the pool had a wheelchair ramp.

Not me, but my buddy in college used to go buy weed from the Canterbury apartments on River Rd in BR and told me this story: Usually, his dealer was an easy going guy but one time when he answers the door, he’s clearly tense and sweating profusely. Apparently the guy may or may not have stolen from his supplier, who came into town to threaten him. Didn’t whack him as he couldn’t prove he’d stolen. My buddy bought his weed and the whole time, the supplier was sitting on the couch, staring at him. According to my buddy, he looked like the metal guy from Terminator 2; clean shaven, 30 something white dude, but a gaze that could be described as ‘less than human’.

Mob doesn’t deal drugs. It’s too messy and they stay away from it. This is from a known capo of the Marcelo family.
