Has anyone ever had a Costanza moment where you do the opposite and it works?

For those Seinfeld ignorant, George's decisions always end terribly so he decides to do the opposite of what he would normally do and it works perfectly.

I have a couple of friends I often ask what they would do in a certain situation. I always do the opposite of what they advise. I've rarely ever regretted that decision.

After about 3 weeks in a row losing practically every game I bet on, I decided to do as I normally do to make my picks, and then I bet the exact opposite. Lost just about every game again. shite didn't work for me.

Well, Mom just baked a cake, told her she was putting the icing on backwards and upside down. Tastes pretty good though.

I did it once in a huge bowl pool someone use to run in the BR area where you had to pick the games vs the spread, and also give them a confidence ranking of 1-27. There were 27 games and you had to rank them from least to most confidence of covering.
After a few years, I was doing ok when it came to picking vs the spread, but I was terrible in the confidence part where I would normally lose the top confidence plays and win the lower; and it was always me picking favorites that sunk my entry. I went back the previous 2 years and realized that if I had switched all of my favorites to underdogs, without changing anything else, I would have won the pool both years.
So, the next year, I picked/ranked them as honestly as I could, but I turned around and switched my favorites to all underdogs and sent it in.
Walked away with 1st place and $1500 that year, and 5th and a few hundred the next.

I did that in my last year of law school and my GPA went up while my time and effort invested plummeted.

Stopped leaving the door open to try and get the cat to come inside. Started closing it with a crack in it & he comes right in.
