Has anyone ever actually needed to use a confirmation number?

Someone has never imported an exotic.

Never, yet I give myself a headache every time trying to quickly decide if I want to write it down or not.

It really doesn't make sense because every purchase has a receipt number separate from the confirmation number.

The only confirmation number I ever use is with a plane ticket.

As I recall, one of my confirmation numbers was “Holy, Holy, Holy”.

Multiple times.

Warehouse people screw up all the time.

Yes, we do.

Writing down an order number is one thing, but the confirmation numbers you get after phone transactions seem useless.

I'm talking about the confirmation numbers you get after a phone call and stuff. If you've got a confirmation number, you've got a system that links that number to me already.

I already know my name/account nunber/etc., we'll find it if there is an issue.
