I feel like the storms are harder if you live in an apartment.

Home owners tend to be better stocked.
Homes probably have;
Wood fireplace or gas logs
Probably some gallons of water stored up.
Maybe an outdoor grill.
Maybe gas range top.
Perhaps outdoor fireplace.
Probably better stocked pantry.

I knew people that lived in apartments in Texas in 2021 and that storm was no fun for them.

Aside from wrapping a couple spigots, just the routine as usual.

Outside of buying ingredients to make gumbo I’ve done exactly squat.

You’ve done more than me. What’s your address just in case I run out of toilet paper?

We’re stocked through Friday. Roads will be a shite show until then so might as well have some fun at home since there’s no reason to go anywhere.

Lived the first 26 years of my life in Louisiana. Lived the last 15 years in the Ozarks.

Y’all are hilarious over this tiny snow and freeze.

I’m making a nice beef stew tomorrow, but that’s about all I’m doing to prepare.

Put an incandescent work light in the bilge compartment of my boat to keep a little heat in there. Covered the outdoor hose bibs and covered a few outdoor plants. Thats about it.

It’s the same as 95 degrees being a big deal up north because a lot of people don’t have ACs. A few inches of snow with no way to treat the roads is a big problem.

It would be like North Dakota getting a hurricane. Most people here don't know how to drive in it, don't have the tires for it and we have no infrastructure to help with it.

I'd love to see a vid of someone ripping a snowmobile around down there.

The locals wouldn't know what the frick that was that just flew by.

I’ll be at work 24/7. They will provide meals, drinks and coffee. I just grabbed some snacks and will pack a bag.

I live in the northeast. We are getting 5-7 inches and i haven't done shite to prep. Nobody really blinks an eye about that sort of stuff up here.

I spent a few seconds educating myself on where the drain plugs are on my pool pump and equipment in case we lose power for a while
