Pipes wrapped. I did hang up some window covering over my double glass sliding doors bc even though double paned and has vertical blinds, cold creeps in. Moved my tropicals to laundry room and may go toss a sheet or garbage bag over a small bed outside that still flowers.

Food, just the usual grocery shopping as I do that on weekends anyway. 2 small Walmart deliveries. That’s it.

I killed a buffalo, skinned it out, and made a fur coat. the head is still attached so I where it like a baseball cap. Made jerky out the meat just in case the electricity goes out for months. Whittled up some snow hoes out of pine saplings too.

Can't be too prepared.

Two things. Plugged in my truck and moved my wife's plants. 5 minutes of time invested

None. Gonna put covers on hide bibs. Add some extra salt to the pool and put pump and fountains on and take program off to run continuously

Have a gas fireplace that will heat half the house, 2 Honda gens to run lamps and coffee if needed, a cord and half if firewood.

Bloody Mary mix and vodka and bourbon stocked . My pantry and fridge are always stocked to a level that I could survive weeks. I don’t stress about winter preparedness, I have plenty gear to wear. Summer, I get ready, you could be miserable quick.

I went check my pipes I wrapped two weeks ago. Glad I did. One came unwrapped and the cover came off. Exposed pipe on backside of house.

Word to the wise, you can be lazy but not completely neglectful.

I could have been in for a bad time.

Well, I have 2 big dogs in back yard and If kids are going to play in snow, then the shite has to be picked up. They can fill a yard up in a week. Take a shovel and remove it.

My wife’s prized firecracker plant is on a rolling stand. I roll it in and out into the garage all winter long based on the cold.

It shouldn't be. Its on it's own utilities so it's really just an extra expense that we don't even use for guests. The upstairs is storage and the downstairs is my office. We could live without it, though.

Nothing. This is a one day event and not going to be that cold. I would not be shocked if the snow melts quickly on the concrete.

People in Atlanta were losing their minds (again) at the grocery store, and we are getting way less snow that you.

Meanwhile, I grabbed a snow shovel at Ace and was made fun of. It just really sucked doing it with a normal shovel last week.

I spent a lot of time covering plants knowing damn good and well it was mostly a futile effort. No doubt the foliage will be killed but hopefully at least protect the roots from dying outright.
