My dad is a boomer and retired at 54 without a pension. He saved a lot and lived below his means most of his life though.

70% of your posts are bitching about boomers

Boomers came up during an era of relative economic expansion and prosperity. This is not to say they haven't experienced hardship (Vietnam War, economic slump of late 70s, etc.). But their general trajectory has been upwardly mobile. They had it easy.
The same thing cannot necessarily be said about subsequent generations, especially Millennials. Ironically, Millennials have to deal with the Boomers (aka their parents) telling them how easy they've had it. Hence the Millennial animosity toward the Boomers.

Has a generation screwed the world and nation up more than the boomers?

I don't identify with any generation, but agewise Im Gen X. Plenty of shitbags in my age range too. Seems, as a gross generalization, boomers and millennials are very similar. Self indulgent, self righteous, petty, and totally convinced that their generation is special in some way. Both are wrong. That said, Boomers engineered the greatest tech revolution in human history. Also the green revolution that drastically reduced hunger. Global extreme poverty was reduced by 80% under their watch (with an assist from Gen X).
Not sure wtf Millennials have done except complain and bitch.
Just an observation.

It's not a pity party, it's economics which your ilk dismisses
I don’t dismiss them. I reached an age where I became cynical because it was then I realized I can’t change things, that’s just the way the world works. But at some point I decided I didn’t want to live my life as that so I became more pragmatic and realistic. I’m not sentimental when it comes to this. I simply care about the economics of me. The economics of what makes me and my family have the best position for the future possible. I don’t pigeon hole generations. It’s simply an age. You, and many here, generalize with groups when there is no way to simply quantify them as a percentage.
As I’ve stated before I know many people of all ages that do very well. I’ll also say I know many people that don’t do well for whatever reason. Education, family life, drugs, just born on the wrong side of the tracks. Whatever. The hand was dealt. In that regards I’m very fortunate. But I didn’t have a bunch of money making15% in a money market fund to help me when I started out. My parents-who fought in WWII had those.
But as I said-I care about my own economic reality because that is what puts food on my table and clothes on my kids back. All the rest is just noise on a message board. I’ll guess you will reach a similar conclusion at some point in your life.

Bingo.
Gen X came of age during the manufacturing demise and the oil crisis.. The 1980s version.
A lot of my friends went back to school when unemployment in our area pushed 20%. They got in early on the tech craze.
People were walking away from houses during that time
