Don’t know where you live or what the boomers you know wound up like, but my friends and the majority of people in my community are retiring from 55-60 with solid pensions and savings, traveling and living a good life.

Give your generation some time. The people you vote for and the policy you cry for will devastate the country. Free, free, free

“Don’t blame me it’s someone else’s fault”

“Holding me accountable is sexist, racist, homophobic, etc.”

You do have one point. If your parents are baby boomers then they raised a pussy.

I don't deal in anecdotal evidence. Most of the people I know, no matter age, are in a similar boat. That doesn't change the fact that the majority of this nation doesn't have a thousand dollars in a savings account and have 6k of credit card debt.

I’m 1/3 their age and have significantly more

As angry and bitter as you are on this board, no one will believe you.

You're a 90 year old curmudgeon trapped in a 29 year old accountants tiny body.

There's quite a few inaccuracies in this statement. Par for the course for you.

So you are saying a person at 55 which is roughly a 30 year career is overstaying their economic cycle?

I got news chief. That’s not the world we live in. And I don’t foresee it in my lifetime.

And I’m getting mine because I put my neck out and took all of the risks, absorbed the failures without complaint, adjusted to the times I’ve lived in and paid more than my fair share of dues.

And my kids will do better than me because of how I’ve lived and worked not in spite of it.

Sorry to upset all of your groups pity party. I’ll die in due time as all boomers will and you can have my rat race.

2 sides to every story. Lots of data to support your argument and mine. However, arguments will not help your situation. Only you can determine your future. Spend your time thinking of ways to make your life better and not arguing on TD

A 2,000-person survey conducted by TD Ameritrade in 2017 found that on average, millennials aged 19 to 37 said they received $11,011 in financial support and unpaid labor from their boomer parents, ages 50 to 70. Without that help, many millennials couldn’t support their current lifestyles, the survey found.

Whatever the case, it’s parents and grandparents making sacrifices to aid their children and grandchildren. Click through to find out the astonishing reasons many aren’t ready to retire.

Probably not at 55 but at 60 is when they should phase out.

I'm aware and it will have negative economic effects.

This isn't isolated to you or your generation so it's irrelevant

Congratulations, but you are the minority.
