Huge news on the Barker update. I went over to help find a friend that was flooded and Fry at Peek is closed all the way east to GB park. Friends in Kelliwood got 2' of water in house and also friends in Green Trails. Tough stuff and very emotional time for many.

Nothing significant for rainfall outside of SWLA.

Yeah that crest came in nearly 3 feet lower than the previous projection, and that saved a ton of homes, but plenty of others were getting water regardless.

HCFCD said 700 homes would get water in Barker and 3000 homes in Addicks.

Jeff Lindner says the rainfall in Harris County since the start of the event would have been enough water to cover all 1800 square miles of the county in 33" of water.

There's an MCV forming around Beaumont, meaning even more rain in that area.

11.85 cubic miles of water would be needed to cover the county in 33", anyone know how much has fallen?

Way too much. I have family all along i10 between winnie and LC.nore than a dozen evacuated. Half of them with water in homes. This isn't nearly over. Unreal.

I calculate only .93 cubic miles to cover the county.

33" = 0.000520833 miles

*1800 square miles = .9375 cubic miles = 1.0323 x 10^12 gallons

That would be just over 1 trillion gallons. Haven't they been saying 9 trillion for a few days now?
