I realize everyone is gun shy after the flooding last year and what not, but this thing is not strengthening given its setup. Dry air is consistently infiltrating the core of Harvey. It takes more than just warm water to strengthen a storm.
My family is still going up north but happy to hear this.

How you baws in Houma making out? I'm thinking of calling it a day already. Can't make calls in this shite. If this rain keeps up main roads will be under water soon

Those models take it just NW of the Lafayette area. Seems like it means that get a bit hairy the next day or two.

Just made it to work and ditches are swollen some minor street flooding but if it keeps up all day we are in for some problems. Locks are closed and this is making it rise quick as the water had no where to go

As you should be, but the totals shouldn't be insurmountable over any widespread areas.

New Orleans drainage system says hold my beer

Anyone hear anything about the condition of the reservoirs and dams near Houston? Are they holding?
Supposedly there is a presser later this morning.
No updates on the integrity of the reservoirs - all seems sound so far. Flooding continues as Addicks is now overtopping and/or going around the spillway as the elevation has reached 108.01'.

Yeah that fear is understandable. Hoping for the best for NOLA.

Still lots of rain falling north of those reservoirs ....

Looks like someone snuck to the gauge and poured a water bottle into it
ETA: It's also strange that the 2 official readings at IAH and HOU airports are near the bottom.

Does anyone know if 249 is passable at cypress creek (around louetta)? If not, is there any good way to cross cypress creek?

Read that the Addicks will overtop and that a press conference on it was supposed to happen at 8 am local time.

If you're referring to the track, yes. The Euro also had it exiting Texas at 980ish mb and at 950mb in its current position.
Nothing supports it strengthening.

Check the Petit C. locks on their site 10 minutes ago it was open(green), 5 minutes later it was (yellow) thinking about it I guess.
