Y'all ... can you imagine the aftermath of this for the rescuers??? The visions that will stick with them forever will not be good.

Poor woman on KPRC is trying to help people with mandatory evacs get out, but her routes are constantly being shut down by more water. She was almost emotional.

I see it,but to me it seems to be shutting that dry out and sucking more moisture to the center...

It's a process for Harvey right now. He's not stacked vertically. The water he's over isn't as warm because of all the heat he sucked out of it and dry air is still very much in play.

I've been posting images of 40-50" rainfall projections for SE Texas since Tuesday/Wednesday of last week, yet I never believed any of it would verify.
Seeing this actually materialize is gut wrenching, and it truly doesn't seem to stop. I've got family that have been evacuated and others that got water in their homes, and I'm sitting here watching radar images of more rain pouring into the Houston area. It is overwhelming at times, and I'm not even directly affected.

You're right but the core is now surrounded by dry air on 3 of 4 sides.
