Am I seeing shite or is that an eye popping up at the end of that loop
Very disheartening to see the wrap around rain at the end of that loop.

Last rained a few hours ago. Streets are almost dry.

It autocorrected to that because of my fat fingers but I left it anyways

Uhhh...is it on a truck bed?
it doesnt appear to be on the bed of a truck, unless the truck un hitched the trailer and rolled out

Makes no sense for the lift to be up like that, tho.
exatly what I was thinking

I'm no meteorite though
If a meteorite could land in the Houston area right about now, that would complete the eclipse/hurricane/space rock trifecta.

A tropical storm won't have an eye. It will likely not reform to the point where it would have one.

It looks like that is new construction. Not sure why they'd need a man lift, but that doesn't look like a completely road.

Did anyone get rds's family? That man has been a godsend through several weather events, hopefully someone in the area was able to help

Looks like the serious rainfall is clearing out of SW and south central LA for now. Main band is moving east.
Iberia Parish schools were closed today and are closed again tomorrow.

I am all for helping, but when they are calling for folks to stop piling in it is for a reason.
I cannot imagine that helpers have little to any coordination when it comes to letting the masses know what houses they have checked. They may check a whole street only to have official crews come in and do the same because they did not know it was already done.
Some may say big deal to this, but it is still wasted time and man power.
Then you need to factor in liability that is taken on when you pile in additional helpers. What happens when a boat full of helpers and rescues people needs rescuing? It just creates more of a situation than what is needed.
We have a national guard that is trained and called upon for these kind of situations. Let's let them work then if they call for assistance bring more help in.
