10 days isn't a very long time to clean up, restock, gather staff, and get the field in shape for a big time college football game. Not to mention that the hotels and roads would likely be booked and/or jacked up.
Having just gone through a major flood event a year ago, the staffing issues are the biggest to overcome. People that work the stadium may not be as excited to be at the game if their house just got flooded out.

coldplay is still scheduled to play at NRG stadium on Friday. maybe Harvey would rather be in Mexico at that time?

I thought about emailing him to come back in these threads... Has he been around?

I'm just not convinced either model is correct... Maybe I'm just wishcasting it away from us.

It's a little bit of a stretch to say NRG will resemble some kind of big refugee/staging area at this point l.

NRG stadium either going to be flooded or will be a major staging ground for post flood ops

Maybe we could play in the Astrodome for old times sakes.

lol...
Harvey will be spending a nice afternoon on the TX coast on Friday, chilling on the Riverwalk in San Antonio on Saturday, grabbing some BBQ in Austin on Sunday, then wrap-up his Texas tour with a visit to Houston on Monday.
Following Texas, Louisiana is next on the "HARVEY: Don't Call it a Comeback, I Was Always a Wave" tour...

That storm could've been bad though. The projections had a shite ton of rainfall and this state has seen their fair share of bad flood events over the years. We got lucky with that one and dry air ripped it to pieces then pushed all the heaviest rain towards the Florida panhandle. Had it not done that it probably would've flooded here in some parts.

It's more likely that storms will not resemble the August flood of last year rather than the other way around.

Based on the current projections for Texas you would be wrong. It could end up worse than Allison and by the way the models keep shifting around Louisiana could end up taking the 12-incher up their arse. On the current path West LA is going to get skullfricked. Obviously it can change but it's not crazy to take it as worst case scenario right now to prepare. The models have consistently trended to worst case scenario for several days now which is the real disturbing factor. Some models have it constantly slowing down even more and more each day with it building up strength making it even worse...there's nothing positive to take from what the paths have shown so far.

Useful site for houston folks is the harris county flood warning system site, full of all the rain and stream gauges throughout the county. This is the mobile version so not sure how it would show up if you're on desktop.

There you go. "Omg skullfricked!!!" Some of you fantasize about this

How's that fantasizing lol? All the paths have at least agreed the system is going to be slow moving which isn't good for Texas or Louisiana.

I don't understand why you're in a weather thread until closer to the event. It's always going to be pure speculation this far out and human nature is to prepare for the worst case scenario.

Brazzers Videos are funny.

What do those pics mean about the path of the storm?
the "L" is where that particular model thinks the center of the circulation will be at the time listed above the graphic
so right now with it being either a tropical depression or tropical storm... all the rain is on the east to northeast side of the "L"... as the storm gets stronger the rain will better organize more around that center of circulation

There's a guy like you in every one of these threads. You're actually the one hoping for worst case scenario to add a little excitement to your life. By crapping on any and all disastrous forecasts, you're just begging for someone to convince you that it's going to be as bad as you hope it will be. You just don't want to get your hopes up in case it doesn't happen.
