Lots of time between now and Wednesday. Things change. That sucker could go out a little further in the GOM and for a little longer than they anticipate at this time, and restrengthen to a Cat 3 before turning back north again. Wednesday is a long way off.

Yeah of course. The takeaway should be that things are very fluid for LA, but the trend isn't great.

Interesting to see the traffic in Galveston while waves are approaching the seawall.

The concern is its slowing down, meaning it won't go inland very far

Euro running now. Initialized @ 978mb and southeast of the current storm location. I assume this is because it is behind the real-time data by an hour or two, but I'm not sure.

The latest view of the radar on the MyRadar app on my phone seemed to show a slight slowing down, plus a bit of a shift from NW to N.

Watching the weather channel and I was wondering if these hotels the weather guys stay at let them stay for free? They have been pimping the shite out of them today. Also Corpus looks like it was built to handle a strong hurricane, 10 foot sea wall and most of the buildings on the coast are 15 feet off the ground.

Here in Clear Lake TX: steady light to moderate rain since this AM. Getting a bit heavier with some wind, 10-15mph maybe. Things moving along just fine.

It's got Cat 3 winds at the surface (assuming it will be recategorized at 1CST advisory...AND it's slowing down AND hasn't completed its EWRC....I hope these people GTFO now!!! This thing could be lingering on a Cat 4 come landfall.

That core looks as good as it has this entire run. Glad he's so close to land.

Is that wrong? I'm just going off of what I'm seeing on tv. It looks a lot more able to handle a direct hit than say NOLA.

Euro @ 24 hours - taking it inland faster than the 12z run yesterday.
