Southern equivalent of a blizzard.

Good for y'all....live to see another year!

As devastating as they may be... Hurricanes are exciting and people want to be in the path of the storm assuming they don't have much to worry about aside from losing power.
Now people on the coast - that's a different animal.

I'll be fine, people on the coast need the luck for now

So some dry air is slowing this thing down?

They have gotten a large majority of the corn out of the fields in tensas parish. Lots of beans and cotton still left but i would think this rain wont jeopardize that crop except what is close to drains

The fear is bowl rot in the cotton and beans going sour. With the way prices are, nobody can afford that to happen
Most of the corn is out here too and if it's not, probably will be before this shite gets here

NAM has shifted north on its Texas landfall, but that brings it closer in line with the NHC track. It was an outlier to the south to some extent.

Eek. I still remember that (shivers). Do you remember the email about locking your doors and undocumented people in and around BR, plus fully armed national guard for security...
Scary times

Word.
Most of the cane crop will be flattened. Not a problem for harvest but costly for planting.

I have the tensas on one side and the mississippi on the other side of my house. My house wouldn't flood but I'd be basically stuck. It's rained so much up here all year, now crops are ready for harvest...this is when rain is bad
Not trying to derail the thread, but can I come hunt on your land?

If it were mine, I'd say come on but I married into it

They've been rushing to get beans done along the river parishes for over a month. Rain has played hell and they've been picking beans at 30% moisture just to get them up.
This is not gonna play out well for them.
